*looks sternly at DarrenW* Who's got what pics of 'old stuff on roofracks' style content? In particular, anyone got a decent snap of a 'Desmo' type attached to something fruity... FANKYOO.

Sorry, I`ve no pics of these, never even heard of the concept until a couple of weeks ago, but I was wondering if someone could explain the attraction of this practice? I`m genuinely curious, (and puzzled to be honest) not trying to take away from it in any way, I wouldnt know how to, I`ve no opinion of it. I would just really like to hear what motivates people to do it as at the moment it seems a bit surreal to me. Maybe thats it?

I just think it looks cool, no other reasoning.

Heres one of mine mate... I've got a shed full of roofrack tat including a radioflyer wagon,cola-coolerbox,triang pedalcar,suitcase,picnic hamper,wooden radiogram,bontempi organ,etc and in the field behind the house a gerry can,oil drum and squareback bootlid rusting away nicely for those times when 'shiny' just wont do The rack is an old portarack off my bug but I've got a desmo one in the shed as well but it sits a little high for my liking

Not sure if this is what you're after but here's our old estate with the roof rack I picked up from Ebay for £10. Guess that was before it was fashionable! If i had know what was to come I'd have found some rusty tat to throw on it.

polo = not cool!
its a 'retro' thing isnt it? from back in the day when it was DREADfully unfashionable to have one! just like towing a tiny 50s caravan, yellow fog lights, patina and classic styles wheels are all part of the scene! explain iron crosses? explain viper stripes? [cobra stripes? snake stripes to be all-inclusive?] its just a 'thing' that goes down!
