I've got a couple of Silverline ratchets one broke pretty much the first time I used so I'm glad you didn't go down that route. I've also got some Sealey stuff and it's been OK so far but TBH it's not used every day. Keep us up to date on how it works out if you don't mind Dez I'm thinking of getting more Sealey gear. well, as i mentioned ive had this set- www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.asp?id=20&method=mViewProduct&productid=5127for somewhere around 4-5 years now, theyve all had some proper abuse, hammered onto rounded imperial nuts, air gun use, used as drifts, all the usual, but they're still absolutely fine. the colour wears off pretty quick as youd expect, except in the groove around the bottom, so they're still identifiable by colour. it was these being half decent that mae me decide to get the others, so hopefully they're comparable quality.

thats not how the machine mart guarantee works, ive learned that the hard way. they wont give you a replacement for anything in store, you have to send it off to thier head office near nottingham somewhere, they will then 'assess' thats its not been abused, and might give you a new one if they fancy it, after a few weeks of hassling them. not worth the hassle from my experience. they don't even keep the bloody ratchet mechs for the ratchets in stock in stores, you have to ring them up and get one mail order, which is exceedingly useless, and why i moved over to using halfords ratchets.
