Subaru Forester 2.0 GLS 4WD estate. 1999 T reg. MOT March 24th 2013, Tax end of April. Some service history and old MOTS. Manual. Very well equipped with: Alarm, Remote central locking, PAS, ABS, Airbags, aircon, electric windows all round, huge electric sunroof, heated electric mirrors, heated seats, CD player, etc. Permanent 4 wheel drive. A very capable, useful, 4wd estate car. Very good condition for age, very reliable. This is my girlfriends car and the reason for sale is we have just bought a bigger 4x4 for towing a horsebox. We have owned the Subaru for nearly a year and it has been totally reliable. The mileage is unknown exactly as it has had a replacement set of clocks in the past. It is near 200k though as previous MOTs go up to 150k, and it looks like a new set of clocks were fitted which now show 38k £SOLD

without sounding like a divvy, why can this engine do 200k and everything else subaru cant. is it still a boxer engine?. also whats the rough mpg youre getting. have had an itch for these for a while that might need to be scratched. and its flipping clean for that kind of milage.

I've found most Subaru engines easily capable of 200k given proper servicing, even the wrx turbos soldier on with massive miles if left standard, i know one chap who has a Legacy estate that's done 340k without ever having the engine apart tows a double horsebox as well...
all Subarus have boxer engines

Thanks for the replies everyone! Round town its not so great on fuel, probably closer to 25 to the gallon. I have seen a lot of these for sale with big mileages, the history shows it did about 50k in its first year!

Hi there, any history for the cambelt?
Just to add my 2p's worth but the boxer engine is fairly reliable unit, my old T2000 impreza wagon had done 155,000 hard miles without a problem (was serviced regularly using decent oil)

Hi, There is no recent history showing a cambelt change, it is due a service now as i havent serviced it while it has been with us, if I was keeping it a cambelt service was the next job for it!
