It doesn't have an engine, perhaps not even vehicle ID (which, in France, means it can be very hard to ever get it registered again), could be tatty but... It's here in the North-East of France and will cost you €1000, but I can't help looking at the front pic and thinking I'd roll it just like that. I hope you like it as much as I do, and that someone from here will see the true potential of this car! As in buying it and making something awesome out of it, which I cannot do at the moment (or, for that instance, ever).

Cadillac Northstar V8 transplants were popular in these for a while.

This was parked at the Queen Mary in Long Beach when I was there; Corvair by route9autos.co.uk, on Flickr I got some funny looks as everybody else was photographing the ship and I was taking pics of the car. Dave.

Cadillac Northstar V8 transplants were popular in these for a while. Oh my that's a thought that excites me greatly. Très très cool car, especially in that condition. Would be nice to see what the side against the fence looks like.

Here's the translation of the ad: I am selling my '62 Corvair Monza, in a very good state bodywise, chrome trim very good too, no rust hole just surface rust, only the engine missing and all other parts included. 1000€ non negotiable or p/ex for cars from before 1980. I hope that makes sense to you guys, I'm doing my best here

Makes sense to me ;D And what a great looking car. Leave it exactly as it is, set of those 5 spoke american racing rims, job done! Oh, would a Scooby lump fit? SVX flat six So, how would you go about registering it without docs?

The only thing I might change on the appearance of the car is putting dog dishes on it. And I'm not even sure about that, or maybe put some thin whitewall tyres. I didn't say the docs were missing, I'm just saying that when you see an ad with an old car that has seemingly been left outside but without mention of these docs, you can expect them to be missing You could then register the car with what's called "classic car registration" here, it's almost like a normal registration but it makes the car worth a little less because all the dodgy cars are registered as "classics"... That first pic is now my wallpaper, I have a feeling I won't sleep well tonight. Bad thoughts about the flat-six sound and that low-but-still-driveable stance...

you could register it here and then export it back to France. DVLA will register an imported car without registration papers from country of origin, or they would when I last asked. If its good and solid and otherwise complete then its a nice price. Worth bringing over the channel...

I've been told it's easier to do the export/import trick with Belgium, because it's a lot of work and money to import a car from the UK here... I think the registration rules are closer in Belgium to those of France than in the UK, and the import procedure is simplified (well, "simplified"). And anyway this car is closer to Belgium!
I hate it when you try to find a solution for a problem you shouldn't be having, and then slowly convince yourself to do something foolish just because you found that solution. Damn good-looking cars!
