Hi,
My GF's mk 1 golf cab is almost recomissioned, but the interior is not the greatest..
Been scouting out interiors etc on the bay of e and elsewhere, but I'm unsure of exactly what'll fit?
do the front and rear seats from a 2 dr Mk2 golf or Scirocco fit the Mk1 floorpan?
are any adaptation s needed?
Cheers!

The front seats out of a mk2 golf, scircco and corrado will fit straight in. As for the rears I think all of them would need some modification.

ive got some polo ones here, complete set, front and rears. Asking £25 for the set if you want to take a chance to see if they fit if not sell them on. I'm near Hastings

back seat is different for the cab to other mk1 iirc, and therefore to all other motors be it mk1, 2 or 3, you may be able to strip the cover and swap it over though.

Thanks for that fellas- good info. Glad front seats are a straight swap- should make finding replacements much easier. Not too bothered about the backs at the moment, but as suggested, possibly stripping and re-upholstering would work. ive got some polo ones here, complete set, front and rears. I'm pretty sure mk2 golfs don't fit straight into mk1 golfs, there is some adjustment needed
In fact I'm almost positive that its not a straight fit, otherwise there would be loads more with them in... I know for one mk to another is just the front catch that needs changing, then from the one to another its the actual width of the runners.. Cant rememebr which is which, but am pretty sure the mk1 - mk2 swap is the front catch is different, so they fit but you don't get the release mech for sliding back n forth

Mk2 Polo wont go strait into a mk2 Golf, iirc from when I tried it everything's nearly right, but the seatbelt plug part is different and stops it fitting in. Maybe the Polo ones are the same as mk1 Golf/Scirocco? As lawsy says, I think that mk2 Golf seats need some messing around to get in a mk1, so it'd make sense. It's mk3 into mk2 that has different width rails (mk3 are wider).
Scirocco seats should go strait in a mk1, as they're essentially a mk1 Golf convertible floorpan, but they'll sit a fair bit lower than golf seats. I think Polo seats will also sit a bit lower, but not as much as Scirocco ones.

Cheers Robin - i knew one was wider If i'm not mistakent he difference between the mk1 and mk2 is the slide release mechanism.. its different on mk1's to mk2's , but mk1 scirocco and golf i think are the same, so mk2 goof and mk2 rocco are the same.. I'm pretty sure you need to cut off the mount on the floorpan and turn it through 180 degrees for the mk2 seats to go in - defo not a straight fit anyway

Yeah, a bit of google action says you're right about the front adjuster/slider being the other way around. I'm surprised they used the mk2 golf fittings in the mk2 Scirocco, but it appears they did.
