We are selling the familys ford fiesta GHIA, been in the family for a couple of years now and been very reliable and honest, we knew the previous owner and knew it had been looked after before we bought it, starts and drives has two weeks MOT left so we took it for a test and it failed (see below for detailed info).
ford fiesta 1.4 16v (zetec s - engine) 90bhp model.
manual, 142310 miles, MOT - failure.
Start with the bad
NO TAX
MOT untill 23/04/12
poor brakes (they still stop you but a bit spongey)
brake flexi hoses corroded
induction system air leak (ocasionally stalls on tick over because of this)
no side light bulbs (recently removed for new car)
bad paint repair to both rear wings (colour slight mis-match and crazed laquer)
rust on both rear arches
patch of rust on the corner of the boot lid.
radio doesnt work
a/c needs regassing
glove box doesnt shut as hinges have broke
brake fluid cap could do with replacing, as it is held on with a cable tie (as the inner part easily pops out because it was overtightened)
messy interior but no rips in seats.
stearing wheels & gear knob worn
MOT FAIL LIST; 4 things
1. nearside front brake hose excessively deteriorated (DANGEROUS)
2. offside front lower suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint
3. offside rear shock absorber has a serious fluid leak
4. rear exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gasses
I have been quoted £220 for the garage to undertake repairs including labour. so for someone that knows what they are doing this should be an easy fix for you, as I have already purchased a new car and the tax has just ran out I didnt want to spend anymore money on the car but i'm sure someone will benefit from getting the repairs done themselves.
MOT ADVISORY ITEMS
all brake hoses are deteriorated
nearside & offside front lower suspension arm rubber bushes deteriorated but not resulting in excessive momement
early corrosion both outer sills
air leak
Now if your still interested, here are the good bits
MOT untill 23/04/12
the car starts on the button, drives and stops it was only taken off the road last week as it failed the MOT. was working fine as a run around before then.
TOP of the range - GHIA
good tyres all round (fronts have 4mm each, rears have 6mm each)
it has allways started and never let us down even through 2 bad winters
reliable
battery is good
alloys
new ignition leads and coil pack on last service 6 months ago
new rear brake drum, front discs/pads, handbrake cable for last MOT
heated front & rear screen
front fogs
standard radio (but doesnt work)
wood trim
air conditioning
electric front windows and mirrors
standard alluminium door seals
service history upto 100k then done by myself regularly
3x Keys - 1 of them being the remote for the central locking.
The mot garage stated in their opinion the car is DANGEROUS to drive due to the nearside front brake hose is excessively deteriorated.
so I would have to advise that as the car has no tax, that the car is to be towed away.
I have been as honest as I can be
taking everything into consideration and how rare the 1.4 engine is in GHIA trim.
cash on collection only!!! thankyou
collection would be from GRAVESEND, KENT 10 mins Jn2 M25
