	Just a quick one. My new car arrived on saturday and it seems to have some rather unusual seat belts! There are none in the back and the front seats have 2 point belts. That is 2 point diagonal so no lap part. Now as far as I know cars built between 1965 and 1975 do not require rear seat belts but require 3 Point belts for the front seats. Now my car is registered in 1967 and has 2 point seat belts that are original equipment. Am I going to have to put a third mounting point in and fit 3 point belts to get it through an MOT. This is strange to me as I have never come accross this type of belt before.

	Rear seat belts try 85 not 75 (actually i think it was 87 to be precise) I "think" front belts became law in 65 and 3 point in 67 and 68 it was rewuired to retrofit 3 point belts to the front so i think you may need another mounting point BUT not sure on imports

	Well my car although its foreign it was sold new in this country.

	Just fit 3 points anyway they sound about as safe as unprotected sex in Africa.

	Just looked through the MOT test manual on the VOSA website and it seems they are allowed. Vehicles first used between 1965 and 1981 require A belt which restrains the upper part of the body (but need not include a lap belt). for driver and specified front passenger seat. Info from here

	Some the cars my dad had had like a lap belt retracting system but mounted at shoulder height.
	Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!
