Not too sound like a c0ck but have you tried googling it?reason I ask was there was a really helpful site years back with a guy from dartford who started doing it in the late 80's I think and fair play he knew everything!! The registration side is easy,no need for sva as it's over 10 years old so just go to Dvla with your J registration/proof of purchase docs and apply for an uk reg, about a ton from memory when I did it. They told me up to a month but it was there 3 days later. Any Mot station, you'll need to get an illuminated fog lamp switch, fog lamp,Mot it on the chassis number, saves getting plates made up straight away, they should fly emissions as their strict in Japan, and get it undersealed as they don't generally get done over there. I believe the import process is easy enough but you may get clobbered for vat on that as it's commercial although thinking about it you may have to pay vat anyway as it's imported, obviously 20% of your purchase price. I think it's about £1300 to get it shipped from memory so a fair but to consider as on a £2000 purchase price that's £2400 with vat,£3700 with delivery,£2-300 fees/Mot/logbook/tax/bits and bobs so a £2000 car= £4000 on the road. Insurance can be a bit higher as well but they've been about a while now so insurers have got used to it a bit. I registered a convertible Pajero and it was awesome,Christ knows what was done in Japan but it flew, had adjustable dampers, air horns the lot,I think we pulled 110 down the motorway it was awesome!!! In all fairness I drove it for 2 years and got my money back on it but I'm sorry I sold it,just needed the cash at the time sadly.

Thanks Vaughant, it was a research fail on my part.
Have heard back from the auction house, by the time VAT, auction & shipping fee's applied a £3k pickup hits £6.5k + getting it on the road.
Plan C time lol
