So I just recentely got my first classic 1984 Mk2 fiesta (in the pic) and i'm thinking of trying to change the front end of the car to the round headlights like a Mk1. Just wondered if anyone had done this? My mechanic said it was possible and my boyfriend who is a bit of a classic car man said that it should be possible with changing all the panels etc. Just wanted to know if anyone had done this before! Cheers Susie :) Attachments:

As far as I know this has been done a few times, in both directions (making a mk1 look like a mk2)
At the very least you'll need to change both wings, the front panel/valence and the bonnet. The wings and front panel don't just bolt on - They need welding on.
I'd guess that getting mk1 panels isn't going to be a simple job - when my pal needed a wing and a bonnet about 5 years ago he struggled.
If you do change the front end panels, the only other metalwork that would distinguish your car from a mk1 is the tailgate, which is an easy swap.

to do a mk1 front is doable but wings are getting expensive now ,
if you just wanr the headlights then look for mini or mk1/2 golf units with the bezels as they are same size as mk1 xr2, or try e3 bmw twin lights and just mod the bezels where needed , even capri are similer , the twins are a bit smaller so better for bonnet clearence,.

Flip the wings are expensive,no doubt because Hadrian have stopped selling them? Some idiot on eBay asking £300 for some copied ones. Been there a while unsurprisingly.
