Right, i doubt if anyone will know it, but worth a bash!
What is the height range that rear lights have to be?! I've been told that there is a standard, but cant find it!

I'm 95 percent on that, but i know some things depend on year.
I also know, rear indicators, theres no size restriction, or set distance from the side etc. As long as there 350mm from the floor you could put 2 led next to each other in the middle of the car and they would have to pass it.
As i said though, different restrictions depending on build date. Theres a list somewhere.

Whilst on the subject.... why do alot of J 4x4's have their light 'relocated' lower down in the UK?? eg- You can see where they 'ought' tp be has been replaced with a reflector. Wierd when S1 Focus (for example) have the lights half way up the rear pillars???

Cheers dude! I'm guessing this is the minimum height?! Do you happen to know what the maximum is?! although thinking about it (with puntos, new corsas, volvo 850s etc) that there is no maximum?!

there is a maximum inset from the side of the vehicle for indicators. I remember reading it in Construction & Use Regs years ago. These vary from year to year as pointed out. ALthough if you are converting now technically what you need to meet is current SVA regulations. WHat you need is a current SVA manual.
