Thanks for looking guys Well I went out there for several reasons: 1) I was working in a low paid job so not a great loss to leave, 2) My dad lived there when he was young and I've been told awesome stories about the place all my life, 3) One of my best mates moved there several years back and asked me to be Best Man for his wedding out there, 4) I had some money from a car accident claim so I could afford the trip, 5) I heard the car scene was awesome out there, 6) Was also an excuse to visit some other places on the way. NZ is an ok place in terms of safety, BUT, you have to have your wits about u in some places (big cities). Some areas are prone to many big abd unfriendly gangs abd it's not hidden from the public view at all! Gang houses with big fences and cameras can often be found! As long as u don't walk about alone in dodgy areas you should be fine! Other than that the country is amazing!! As for work, I worked for on of NZs biggest car body shops in Christchurch as a Valeter/driver! Awesome job for me as I got to drive some amazing and unusual cars that we would never see in the UK! I have a whole album just on cool stuff at my work coming up

six reasons all coming together to make an unforgettable trip, last nosey question I promise....what the heck brought you back to the UK !!! lol WELL.... First off I was running low on money as it was only really 6 months I was working, the rest was traveling about and sightseeing! I also started to miss my friends abd familly... It can get a little lonely being in a country roughly the size of the UK with a population of less than London!!! I also met a girl out there that strangely lived not far from my home in the uk! She had to get back to work so I followed 7 weeks later! Unfortunately no longer together.... But now I have a better one . I think the biggest thing that made me return home is that basic living (food etc) is not as cheap as u would think! No such thing as 4p tin of beans or Tesco Value etc! Along with that the general selection of anything that's for sale out there does not compare to back home! It really feels like technology is a long way behind OR very expensive! ......also I was avoiding earthquakes lol

Great pics. NZ has in incredible variety of J tin thanks to (i) kiwis loving the stuff since they worked out BL was having a laugh at their expense and (ii) J imports flooding in duty free from 1985 onwards. I arrived in the UK in '99 very disappointed at the lack of obvious retro J tin but thanks to the likes of Datman I found a scene that just keeps on growing. And cars that keep on appreciating.

oh yeah, and NZ is expensive, isolated, violent and has been run disastrously for much of the last 25 years which is why it is on its way to having the largest diaspora per capita in the world. Young people can't wait to leave the shocking weather and low pay for better places. Like the UK. Awesome country.

He came back to the UK and hated it so moved back to NZ He loved the good pay and good weather :-)......I've never been there.

Yea I missed the first big Christchurch Earthquake by 3 weeks as I was in Sydney at the time! I did go back 2 months later to see the damage just before I flew home! It was a shock to hear of the 2nd big one several months later! These quakes made one hell of a mess of the city and they still don't have a city centre to this day! Scary.... I'm just glad all my friends that I met were ok! Shame my mates 240z G Nose had a wall fall on it tho (now been rebuilt ) More on all this when I get to that part Weather wise they say it's like uk weather 20 years ago... Summer is hot and sunny and winter is cold with snow and rain! North is humid, middle is the sunniest part abd down south and to the west it's snowy and mountainous! Also Christmas is the hot part of the year and June/July is the coldest/wettest! We had a BBQ for Christmas dinner
