well seeing as i got the whole interior out and getting the little jobs done relocating washer bottle to the boot (electric) i might aswell relocate the battery if i can get leads long enough?
what car from factory had the battery relocated to the boot, and what leads will be long enough to cover it (ford corsair so at least a good 3-4 m?
what car has these leads as i don't spend long enough looking round at scrapyards and if i can get these this weekend it will be another job jobbed!
cheers ;D

If you've got a welding supplies shop near you you could get some welding cable, about £5 - £7 a meter iirc

Another option, but maybe you're going the budget route ;-) You can get the cable off the roll from commercial vehicle factors and make up the ends.

Just buy new cable... You'll definitely have the correct length then.

if you get some i might be able to sort you out some crimp lugs when i get back to work in a week, solder them on with a blowtorch.

Check it over carefully, you don't want it shorting to the bodywork...

Second hand wiring is a false economy, especially long battery leads. Wiring degrades over time so just buy new stuff, its not expensive (well you wont think it is when your stuck in the rain with a flat battery).
One of the things you learn about modding cars on a budget as you get older is some stuff your better off buying new, wiring, batteries and ignition parts being my top three.

Just go to a car audio shop and ask them for 1 gauge cable, they will be able to crimp ends on it for you, if you tell em what its for. 1 gauge may seem over kill but you will get alot of resistance using standard gauge stuff. Bet you could buy stuff off ebay too.

Plastic toolbox can also do the job of a battery box.

Plastic toolbox can also do the job of a battery box. Thats what i used to use when i was autograssing. Easy and cheap. Old motorbike top box is another alternative.

An option to consider instead of rubber grommetts is the plastic inserts used in 'speed fit' plastic plumbing. I used some on the rally car for the fuel lines. Cheap, a bit of length to them so they sort of add some strain relief and much less danger of them getting dislodged.
I stuck them in with a dab of household silicon sealant. Worked a treat!!
