As much as I don’t want to do this, I’m putting my 328i touring up for sale. A need for something italian and permanently broken is forcing the sale.
You should all know what this car is about. It has the biggest engine they put in the e36 touring, 193bhp from factory and a boat load of torque. The weighting is lovely on these, much better balanced than the coupe or saloon.
It goes round corners beautifully. back end comes out easily and it's easy to control.
These cars make seriously fun track cars. If I had the space and money I would be keeping it and prep for the track, shove it on coilovers, weld the diff and throw out some seats, but i'm old and boring now :/
It's really really practical as well as being fun. loads of room in the boot, rear seats fold down well and boot cover thingy comes off easily.
I'll put a different CD player in there for the sale. Also the child seats are coming out
general stuff:
Full Service History, mostly BMW until me, then looked after by myself. receipts to back this up.
167,500 miles - seems high, but honestly it isn't, and engine runs perfectly.
IMO any beamers of this spec under 120k are likely to be clocked, they were mostly bought as company cars for execs on the motorway
8 owners
good stuff:
-facelifted version, so slightly pointier, and a few more gadgets.
-Tow bar + plug thingy + spare rear plate
-Sunroof
-put some new front tyres on recently, lots of tread front and rear.
-had the front suspension arm bushes done a month ago.
-had the engine compression tested to check the gasketts. all 100%.
-roofrails
-electric windows all round
-dual zone climate jobby
-Centre Computer unit which is quite rare. does stuff like trips, mpg etc.
-have had 40mpg on a motorway trip, though at 70mph will more likely do 35mpg
-town driving will be quite a bit less. 25mpg or so depending on how you drive and how hilly it is.
-factory 6 disk changer in the boot - not currently connected
bad stuff:
-Aircon doesn't work. no idea why. but it has a sunroof, so who cares.
-bit of surface rust on rear arches. (pic below)
-bit of surface rust on bonnet, i'd suggest finding a new one from a scappies if it bothers you. (pic below)
-clutch is nearing the end of it's life. plenty left on it, but will have to be done in the next 10-15k miles.
-Centre Computer unit very occasionally when it's raining reads "brake light circuit failure" . the brakes still work, but one of the the test circuit connectors must be getting wet.
-Traction control cuts out if you really push it for too long. I've had it unpluged since I got it though.
-fob range isn't great, and there's only one of them, and it's tatty. there are two keys though.
-condensation in the front right light
I'll post some more pictures of it tonight.
