Hi Guys Not a retro question but i`m sure you guys can help? I`m thinking of buying a Peugeot Expert to make into a "Surfvan" and i want to fit a second row of seats, I know that Peugeot 806 front seats are a direct fit in the front but will the rear seats fit in the back? Or is there another type of seats i could fit? (i know you can buy them from a van conversion company but moneys tight ) Cheers Adrian

Do you have a pic of the rear cargo area? That might help someone with the passenger version tell you whether or not those seats will fit.
Do you have any pics of what you want to turn it into? That might make the thread more interesting.

I've got an Expert. The floor has the indetations for the rear seats but no actual fastenings. You'd therefore have to source them from a MPV version - 806/807, Ulysse or Synergie (all the same floorpan). If you want I will give you, FREE, a pair of mint rear seats from a Ulysse in light grey that I bought for my van before deciding to turn it into a camper instead. They are quick release so you'd either need the floor fittings or make somehting yourself (not too difficult as long as you could weld a length of bar to a plate so the catch could locate) Bodywork has holes already in situ for seatbelts. C posts just have hole so captive nuts need fitting whereas rear pillars items already in place. Lower seatbelt mount on seats.
Front seats out of the MPV swivel but my van has just a single passenger seat so I bought a swivel base instead. BTW the MPV alloys fit but you must keep the correct rated tyres for the van to stay legal.

LDV seats fasten them to some rails drill holes bolt in job done, of find some coach seats.
That would be a similar set up as I have in my Vito.

If you need the proper floor fixings for the Expert rear seats drop me a pm. I can get them. The indents are in the floor already and the holes are already in the sub floor structure. You'll need to drop the tank half down to get to them but this is easy enough. Don't use coachbolts to hold seats with integral belts in unless you really don't like the people you'll be carrying in them, 8.8 rated M10 bolts are the minimum as a human+seat puts a 1 ton load on the fixings in a 30mph crash! Sorry no pictures i`m afraid as i can`t find anything on Google that uses a Peugeot Expert But everyone in Cornwall has one made out of a Vw T4 (T4`s are top money down here almost £3000 for a 1992 van but i can get a 1998 Expert Td for £600) Cheers Adrian

HTH, Ian Hi Ian Are the bolt holes under plastc covers in the van floor?? As the van i`m looking at has about 4 plastic circle covers in the floor but i can`t see anything underneath them Cheers Adrian
