Yea!  Nice one...that's more cars I'd get in a local meeting round where I live  Damn, your C110 looks nice! Do you know a bloke called Malcolm Cooper...lives in Christchurch I think? He has/had a C110 coupe that colour too. And a 710 SSS. Invercargil? Is that where they went to in the film "Goodbye Pork Pie?" ;D ;D |

There's actually been a few for sale recently the same colour, Metallic blue must have been a popular choice in the 70's. Yeah, Malcolm is a bit of a Datsun freak, he's got a 260C Coupe that he's trying to sell at the moment, I wouldn't mind it but it would need a lot of work (read: money) to get it back on NZ roads. He's also got a 510 SSS that he tried to sell a while back but I don't think he really wanted to, was just testing the waters, so to speak. Didn't see any 710 SSS, I think he has/had a 610SSS maybe?? Unsure. Yep, Invercargill sure is the place they went to in Goodbye Pork Pie! ;D Pretty decent movie that, bit of a laugh with the old Holden HQ police-cars etc. Quite surprised you know of it, never really thought of it's popularity outside NZ. |

Ah! You know a while back when Malcolm first mentioned selling it I did briefly consider shipping it here. It's still a tempting idea as I'd lovce a C110 coupe. Malcolm definately mentioned having a 710 SS in the past...wether he's sold it or not I don't know.
I've seen some pics of the 610 and 510...the 510 looks pretty orignal and being an SSS I guess fairly desirable too so I can see why he'd want to keep it! Haven't seen his 260C though. I have seen a coupe before in Norway, but there are none here in the UK. I'm guessing his 260C is a 230 model rather than a 330? We had 330's here as 260C as well as 280C but again only as four door sedans.
I've got Goodbye Pork Pie on DVD. It sounded interesting so I hunted it down. Loads of cool old cars in it. Is it me or did they sell a lot of Hillman's in NZ?! There seem to be loads driving around in traffic in that movie!

Yeah it is a 330, 260C Coupe it's for sale on a local (NZ) auction website... here's the link if you're curious; www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts/Nissan/Exterior/auction-15746918.htmI'm also contemplating a 220C w/ LD28 at the moment being it's road ready it's a slightly nicer option than having a complete restore... here's a pic;  And yes, for certain, there were Hillman's everywhere, for quite some time British and Australian vehicles dominated the NZ roads, it's changed a lot now. The Australian ones still have large numbers just not as many as the overall Japanese population of vehicles. |

As far as I know it's still red. Mine was a 230 model (the one before that). It was originally white when I first did it, then Colin painted it in blue flake for me. After I sold it the next owner painted it gold which is how it remains now. Shame..it looked awesome with the flake on it   Notice the car in the background in the pic above? It's that C10 Skyline that is on eBay at the moment! Also, that's Col's car in the foreground. Michael, I didn't know they did diesels there..we didn't get any diesel Datsun sedans until the 80's. Michael, I didn't know they did diesels there..we didn't get any diesel Datsun sedans until the 80's. Normally those have SD20 or 22 four cylinder engines don't they? LD28 would me much better. I had a Japanese import C32 Laurel with an LD28 and that went well. Eddie, they didn't have big diesels in them from factory as far as I'm aware, but changing from an L-series petrol to an L-series diesel is easily done and quite a common conversion in NZ, infact, you'll find the LD28 conversion in all sorts of cars over here from Ford Falcon's and Holden Commodore's to Bedford and Transit vans. Both the LD28 and RD28 are fantastic engines, my parents used to have a C33 Laurel with and RD28 that would go forever on a tank of gas and really fairly decent performance wise, nothing of course on the RB20/25DE and DET's the C33's also came with but still adequate. Also I'm sure you must mean C110 although you did have me staring for a while in the hope of glimpsing a C10 in the Uk ;D |

There is a C10 in the UK though...this one is sat in a garage somewhere in the Swindon area. I doubt it'll ever see the light of day again

I believe she though she was getting a GT-R (for £8K?...yeah riiiight :  It's a bodged up 2000GT with an L28. I'd still have it though |

I've heard about this car, the lady didn't realise in the auction/sale details that "GT-R shiyo" meant it was not a "real" GT-R but a GT-R "look" or "replica". Poor thing. Still has a very nice car though despite any structural problems, I think anything on a KGC10 would be worth fixing. |
