2000 W plate Saab 9-5 2.3 HOT Aero 4 door Estate.
The car has full service history and has been very well looked after by its previous owners.
Engine
Standard 2.3 16v Turbo engine starts first time every time and runs very smooth and quiet. It produces 230bhp and pulls really nicely while all the time returning very good mpg for a car with such power. 40mpg on a run is not unachevable but 30mpg is average with 22MPG around town. The engine does not use any water. However is smoking slightly. This has got no worse in my ownership. I have been advised its the turbo. These are available 2nd had for around £100 for a good used unit. The car comes with the excellent 4 speed automatic garbox with sport and winter modes. Mileage wise the car has covered 149,000 miles. The car does have a slight oil leak from the sump and would probably beinifit from a new sum gasket (£150 job from a saab specialist) To be honest Ive been planning to get this done but have been given another car so no longer need to do this. I have been monotoring the oil and topping it up about 1/2 a liter every 6 weeks. Many of these cars have been tuned and had there ECU's remaped this is not one of those cars its quick enough as it is. However if you wanted to do this there are 9-5 Aeros out there with 300bhp with very little outlay.
Bodywork
As you can see from the pictures, the bodywork on this 9-5 is in good condition for its age. As with any 13 year old car there are some marks. there is a crack in one of the headlights and both fog lights but this in no way effects there use. On all 4 coners there are scuffs these are not particulally noticable from distance but could be repaired from a SMART repairer. All in all it's pretty good considering the age of the car
Interior
The interior on this 9-5 is in excellent condition for its year showing little sign of wear. There is a small amount of wear on the drivers seat however it's not too bad. The Aero model comes with a massive spec, charcoal leather, dashboard, door cards and contrasting trims.
Features include:
Electric windows front and rear, Electric Mirrors, Dual zone, Climate control, air conditioning, Power Assisted Steering, CD Player, Adjustable steering column, Full electric heated and vented memory front and passenger seats, Front and rear arm rests, built in cup holders, Large boot space, split folding rear seats, ABS Brakes, Driver airbag, Passenger Airbag, Cruise Control and Night panel. Full SID (Saab Information Display)This displays MPG, distance to empty, date, speed warning, average speed etc. It does have pixels missing and can be difficult to read. I might have a go at fixing this. Its never really bothered me as I just look at the guage when it hits the red I fill her up. You can have them fixed with a lifetime warrenty for £50
Exterior
The car comes with the standard alloy wheels which in my opinion are the best wheels for the car. They do have a few small scuff marks and there are a couple of the stickers missing otherwise they are in good condition. Two of the tires will need replacing in the next couple of months as they are close to the legal limit.
ICE and Security.
In-dash CD player with 6 speaker sound system and CD multi changer in the boot. The car has the factory fitted alarm and immobiliser with remote central locking and all the original keys are present.
Service History.
The car has full service history so has clearly been looked after.
The car does have a slight vibration at around 45MPH which sounds and feels like it could be the beginnings of the wheel bearing.
Will need about £100-£300 spending on it depending on how handy you are with the spanners.
Lots of these are now being butched and the engines used in everything. You could do this and probably get your money back from the rest of it!
Massive load space excellent parts lugger, dog vehical or cross country crusier!!!!
You wont go much faster in as much luxuary for less!!!!
