But of an odd one I guess, but living in London I don’t get the same opportunity to get my hands dirty messing around with old cars, as I did when I lived up in Scotland.
My mechanical skills don’t extend particularly far (if at all!), but I have assisted more mechanically skilled people in various operations, from simple services to engine swaps.
I’m particularly interested in welding and fabrication, as well as spannering – Happy to be the workshop / garage gopher (sweeping / tidying / striping underseal / getting in the bacon rolls etc) in exchange for the basics.
(Hoping to acquire a 70’s vintage Vauxhall next year, and would like to pick up on any practical knowledge that I can before then!)
I live in NW London (Queens Park), but have a car, so could get a little bit outwith London if need be. My shift pattern also means that I regularly have up to two weeks off out of every five, so am available during the day.
