looks like ive just aquired 1 ;D. its a none runner project at the mo. heres some pic of it its still in bristol at the mo and have to sort moving it to blackpool. heres a (v long) link to the previous owners build www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3605so my plan is to get it on the road and use it as a run around for summer. then do I full rebuild next winter I want to change the engine when I rebuild it. theres a couple of engines ive been looking at. first is the rover v8 its been done a few times. second it a lexus v8 this has also been done www.bodgerben.com/Scimitar.htmthird is bmw v8 not done as far as I know I could keep it v6 with a omega v6 which has been done a couple of times or ive been looking at the nissan 300zx na/tt engine ;D there is also the volvo t5 engine and make it rwd lets see what your ideas are and what engines you can think of

Where is the emoticon for jumping up and down excitedly with a party hat and party blower? ;D
I know you've been looking for a long time, buddy.
Sorry I missed this on Scimitarweb. I haven't been following build threads there, but holy cr*p! An 87 page thread and the car's not finished?
The SE6 has a bigger engine bay, so engine transplant will be easier than the SE5. IMHO Rover V8 has had its day as a conversion. There's more power available in other packages. Lexus or BMW V8 -niiiiice. In fact I'd like to see any larger BMW in one of these, even straight six if it fitted. There's a straight-six diesel SE6 over here. The others I really don't know much about.
What are the Honda Legend V6's like?

cheers mate its been a while comming ;D cant wait to get it home lol ye 87 pages are the honda v6s similar to the rover/mg v6 and what gearbox would make it rwd? I'm kind of heading for the nissan motor as it keeps it v6. I want to keep it manual. the bmw and volvo can be done but the gerboxes are demanding big money how wide is the vauxhall engine in yours?

That's what I like about the Omega plant. Engine and box all in one package, no phaffing around looking for expensive bellhousings and such. how wide is the vauxhall engine in yours? Let me get you measurements over the weekend. The engine's nice and handy on a trolley at the moment. I saw a Lexus LS400 go for £500 on ebay locally recently. What a donor!!

just a small update tonight. been sorting the garage out all day. from 10 this morning till about 20 mins ago (2 tip runs) but finaly she has a home took me a little longer than i expected but shes in there and i can get all the way round. only had time for a quick look over her today. took the battery out and put that on charge over night. it had a little juice in it and just about turned the engine over. theres alot of wires hanging about around the car so i think i will start to tidy this up and replace were needed. andy

It looks like you're ready to get stuck in.
The exterior looks like it won't need major work, and the interior looks like serious cleaning / replacement of upholstery, depending on what takes your fancy.
A good poke around the grubby underbits and the chassis will tell the tale.
