What's this now? I've missed a few links in the chain.
Sounds ace tho, regardless ;D
I'm guessing this is going towards making the mighty Rocco faster ;D

I've just been informed that I'll also need either Audi or Scirocco 16v carriers...oh well!
Only one link in the chain Lewis - I bought a 1.8 KR 16v engine from a MKII 16v Golf that I'm currently re-building to then put in the Rocco (hopefully)

I am also still collecting bits for my 16v Scirocco conversion, hoping to start sometime in the near year... Biggest bargain so far was a 2 litre 16v Audi for free

It might be a bit late to make it worthwhile but would it not work out cheaper buying a rough 16V golf to get the parts off, or are not all parts interchangeable

You can't use the downpipe (although you can modify it) because it's the wrong shape. I've only spent £97 on the engine, fuel system, discs and calipers - so unless the gearbox (it doesn't need to be from a 16v - I can use a 1.8 8v box from a Golf / Scirocco) and servo is going to cost me £300 - £400 i'm quids in.

If you buy a secondhand 'box my tip is to change a few seals on it or it might leak oil onto the clutch making it slip and have to come apart again, which is annoying... ask me how I know...? Things to change - push rod seal and brass bush and input shaft seal, a couple of quid for the lot from GSF. Also may be worth changing, or at least checking, the seals on the driveshaft flanges or they'll leak oil into your inner CV's and also onto your driveway... again, I know... This site is fantastic for transmission info www.brokevw.com/index.htmBest of luck with the conversion
