OK time a couple days left, so I have had a good brows through the gallery section, and impressive it is too. favourate gallery is 'Le Mans Classic'! Not just for daft reason, Mr Bo11ox'z people spotting (and stalking perving skilzors) is fantastic and my pic picks here, in order as I found em hot rod poster The man in front is a Keefy! as a regular camera dude, you get that look a lot! LOL shoes people and a nice lady - THIS IS MY FAVE (i think) best site. hmm , ebay. Just for giving us daft ideas and something to oggle after.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Best Car 2006 - Racers Toymota – Just sooo right, the colour, the wheels, the stance. Best Website – Turbominis.co.uk – Good site, well laid out, and some really nice people on there too. autospeed.com.au – Excellent online magazine covering the Australian tuning scene, general automotive technological advances, tuning practice, and a huge amount of part and product testing. Best Magazine - PPC autospeed.com.au – its an online magazine, and its ace! Best Show - CaRSBest Image From A Retro Rides Gallery 2006 – www.retro-rides.com/ViewImage.aspx?a=24&s=150&d=/Shows%20And%20Events/2006/Wheels%20Day&i=Only%20A%20in%20the%20Village.JPG#imagewww.retro-rides.com/ViewImage.aspx?a=24&s=0&d=/Shows%20And%20Events/2006/Volksfest%20London&i=P7300016.jpg#imagewww.retro-rides.com/ViewImage.aspx?a=24&s=50&d=/Shows%20And%20Events/2006/Classics%20on%20the%20Common&i=Harpenden77.JPG#imageBest Overall Retro Rides Gallery 2006 – Hot Olds meetClassic and retro showLe Mans ClassicMost Anticipated Car Of 2007 – Nightmare's Tina Van or Keefy’s beetle Forum Person Of The Year - This one is difficult! End of the day there are so many people on here that I appreciate, honorable mentions to – Monsieur B for just generally being as dry as a mofo - Slater for his unending enthusiasm - Reanimation for being a thoroughly nice chap, and for the enthusiastic forum contributions - Seth for being a very nice chap, and for that ace imp drift photo - Phatphord for seriously crazy thoughts about a scorpio, and also being a nice chap at CaRS this year. - Cappuccino cruiser again for being a really nice chap, and saying hello / leaving an indelible mark on my good friend Gary’s metro! Nomination has to go to - Reanimation Retro person of the year - Richard Hammond – How can you not, he works on the best program on telly, he loves retro cars and he crashed in the pursuit of the UK LSR, LEGEND!

Best Car 2006 - The two-door Volvo Amazon Wagon that went to Sema, then global.
Best Website - Ebay - I could fill my life from it's pages.
Best Magazine - Classic and Sportscar, the one magazine I buy with my own money.
Retro person of the year Peter Brock
Best Show - Classic Le Mans, it was emotional
Best Image From A Retro Rides Gallery 2006 - Genuinely can't pick one so would rather abstain.
Best Overall Retro Rides Gallery 2006- Werthersee (sp?), I love foreign stuff
Most Anticipated Car Of 2007 - Keefy's Beetle
Forum Person Of The Year - Slater
I have a lot of respect for a lot of people on this website, and their projects, which is why I feel the need to justify my last two choices. Keefys Beetle for the sheer quality and dedication to doing it his way, plus it'll knock the curse word out of the VW scene. Nitemares came a joint first with Slater, but the latter nips it because of his age... If I had been half as productive as he is during my life, I would have been ten times more productive than I have been. Inspirational.

Best Car 2006 case closed, stick it in the Hot olds gallery and no one would ever pick up on it being a uk car. That and the engine work its had and imported bits. (And his oil cooler PWN3S mine ) Best WebsiteA bit modern, but some great cars, great photographs, interesting articles and a friendly helpful Forum. www.jtuned.com/Best MagazineJ Tuner Best ShowCaRS Best Image From A Retro Rides Gallery 2006Its a cool photo, but its more about the guys behind the camera living the dream, the stories that come with it and the shear scale of the adventure they had! Best Overall Retro Rides Gallery 2006Hot Olds need i say more - Most Anticipated Car Of 2007Tough call, infact really tough call but I'm going to have to go with Dom's Kadett, anything 20 years old that has a blown 16v Yamaha designed engine, LSD, titanium exhaust and mappable power steering is always going to make me redecorate my trousers That said Blownimps Imp will be the shizz and a half, i just cant wait to chase him round Mallory at the Retro-Rides show. Forum Person Of The YearTop 3 have to be; Slater - so much skill, vision and enthusiasm its unreal. "THE metro" ,as it is easily the benchmark for metros and most Euro cars IMO, seemed to come together in days and the finished result is amazing. Blownimp - Does this guy ever just think "id like a quick imp so ill but a ported head and some twin carbs" like normal people? NO so we have has turbo charger, superchargers and I'm sure pretty soon BOTH!! And just because its not epic enough, he throws in some EFI, bans the use of jubilee clips and makes his own carbon bits. NUTCASE. SpottedLaurel - top guy, i could spend most of the rest of my adult life chatting about old Jtin and cars in general. Always helpful and is a human Encyclopedia of J'ness. Its got to be Blownimp as he is a a nutter really and knows his onions! (and forced induction and carbon fire and efi and working in sandals)

SpottedLaurel......I could spend most of the rest of my adult life chatting about old Jtin and cars in general. Less of the adult please! Think everyone above has pretty much covered any nominations I'd want to make, and there's little point saying the same as we're still only nominating. Already put forward Original Tin for best mag, but otherwise..... Best Website - autoshite.

Best Car 2006: kP_Nuts and his lovely white/blue KP30! Came out of nowhere and has really grown on me in a big way! JAF badge posse! Best Website: www.youtube.com - I love the fact I can just type a car name in and chances are I'll find something worth watching, I haven't watched TV for weeks because of it. Best Magazine: Practical Classics has been a pretty good read lately but to be honest I haven't been reading much magazines lately. Best Show: Didn't really go to any except some smelly local one and that had burgers for something like £2.50 so that's not going to be best is it. And I paid 80p for a can of Pepsi from an ice cream van. This country! Best Image From A Retro Rides Gallery 2006: Yeah no bias there! Best Overall Retro Rides Gallery 2006: Le Mans Classic, it has a picture of a van with a load of crisp packets on the dashboard and candid photos of women. Most Anticipated Car Of 2007: Tetsujin and his KE70, you can do it!! Then you can do my Charmant. Forum Person Of The Year: Now this one is just unfair because we all seem to get on around here but I'm going to put Mr_B forward because anyone who goes out of his way to save an old Starlet deserves some sort of award, even if it did end up getting sold on to an absolute bell end.

(Just another nod to all who contribute - large or small making RR a great commuinity, picking people and cars, and pictures is very difficult. I'd like to acknowlege the wizardry skills of our obvious technical/mechanical go doers; Blown imp, Racer, Nightmares, Slater adaptorman, CR500dom etc etc, who make it look easy most of the time, and give us something to lap behind with! Not forgetting the less obvious Go-doers. The regulars (you know who you are) deserve a mention for keeping the place busy and fun, the ebay wombles desrve a mention too. Also a special Nod to good man all round Opelfruit Bstardchild, Serial GM collector, always there to offer indepth help and knowldge, as well as curing 3 peoples homlessness, at least one persons flat battery, and feeding Street, at CaRS 2006. Cheers mate. Long live RR)

Belated I know but here we go.... Best Car 2006 From the forum a lot of really good ones but my personal favourite this year was Bstardchilds 24V Monza. Best Image From A Retro Rides Gallery 2006Best Overall Retro Rides Gallery 2006 C.A.R.S. Most Anticipated Car Of 2007 Close run thing between Blownimps blownimp. O.K this has been very hard this year but here goes... As this is the nomination stage I'll try not to double up on any previous suggestions Best Car 2006: anpanmans Toyota Mark II Hardtop. This car really made me go oooof! when he joined up. Simple mods, well executed and the coolest factory paint ever Best Website: www.imcdb.org/Totally invalueble website for finding old cars in film or old films with cars in Best Magazine: Citroenian, Citroen car club mag that my dad gets every month, everytime a new one arrives it cotains at least one car (normaly several) that I have never seen before or even heard of, very well put together, informative and never contains any bickering or scene politics. Best Show: Mersea Madness, small local show that was very diverse with lots of quality tin and some genuinly shocking (in a good way) retroness Best Image From A Retro Rides Gallery 2006Lovely camera angle, love the grass in the foreground, blue sky, Awsome (loose the old farts and it would be 100% perfecto Best Overall Retro Rides Gallery 2006: Hotrod spring Nats, Completly diverse range of cars including rods, Kustom, American, VW, Ford and other assorted retroness, I'm especialy fond of the dodge corronet wagon and Impala pics Most Anticipated Car Of 2007: The unknown! Reading build up storys and following the construction from start to finish is a real plus about this site but being blown away by cars you don't even know exist is even better (I'm thinking Preets SSS at CaRS this year) Forum Person Of The Year: Everybody who has already been nominated really deserves it, but a few more have stood out as well that should be mentioned here. BodieandDoyle : legendary camera skills deserve an award on thier own but the enthuisiasm and sheer energy this guy exudes is mental, he quite literally can't stand still. V8 Mike: Almost pips MrB to the post on sheer Tat hoarding ability. T25 panel van, Lancer, 929 coupe and now a Celeste, not to mention the other stuff he has tucked away as well. Rescuing the 929 does it for me though in sheer terms of Retro Hero. Daveyboy: Doesn't log in too much as collage and lack of internet connection get in the way but was a complete star this year, helping me out with loads of stuff on the run up to CaRS and getting his hands dirty doing most of the prep work on my Celica.

I've put this off for too long... I'll fill in blanks later...
Best Car 2006: ... Best Website: Hmm, don't really spend much time on other car sites. Best Magazine: PPC. Not bought it for a while but I like the balance of techieness and visuals. Best Show: Although I didn't attend, I think it's gotta be CaRS. Best Image From A Retro Rides Gallery 2006: ... Best Overall Retro Rides Gallery 2006: Hot Olds Meet. I was fascinated. Most Anticipated Car Of 2007: So many... so, so many... but Doms supercharged Kadett gets my nomination. I can't wait to see that! Forum Person Of The Year: Again, very difficult choice... there are so many people who really make this forum what it is, but I think I'll have to nominate AlistairK. Always helpful, knowledgeable, and seems to have taken up the mantle of "forum ranter" in Revolution9's absence!
