From this: to this: Chop the top off, weld up the doors and stick on a roof from a Consul Capri! Would be interesting to see if it ever got finished! For more info see www.practicalclassics.btinternet.co.uk/ (No, its not THAT practical classics!)

I'd have left the doors and roof alone, flared the arches, jack up the rear suspension, put silly huge wellers on it and sprayed it black.
Just like my dad did to his ;D

Hmm...I don't know... I think it looks wrong as it is there. The rear deck is too long which combined with the position of the rear wheels makes it look kind of wierd. It a neat idea but I think you'd have to lengthen the capri roof in the center slightly so the side window was a little long and the rear deck shorter. 6" would do it. If the rear axle line was further forward I think it might be okay as is. On a capri there's a big rear overhang which isn't there on the Vogue because it's a 4 door. Brave project though..hats off

I dare say it'll be neater with the paint on though. I'll be interested to see what he does for the interior.

It looks cool...I can see your point RatDat but I think that two-door stretch will bring it all together in the end.
My opinion...very brave and jolly clever. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Hard to knock, I don't think I'd try it! The screen could lean back a bit more though. That would help increase the visual length to counter the roof line. Don't you wish you had the time to try...

Very courageous! With this sort of project it helps to do a quick Photoshop job on it - I did this when I was considering a roof chop on the Merc last summer. Boy, am I glad I did it on the computer first... it just didn't look right at all! However the Rover P6 looked great with a couple of inches off the roof ! Shame nobody had time to do it! I think it'll look cool - a bit odd, but cool none the less

Don't like it! Looked good as it was plus it looked like it was in Minty condition so why cut it up?
