Bit of a long shot, but someone may have purchased or needed to replace these:
Is there such a place that can supply ready shaped/unioned brake lines for the skoda 120/estelle?....i`m on about the copper piping not the flexi ones...
Or do I have to knock up my own/get them copied
Any help greatfully received.
I`m also after a fuel tank if anyone knows where???.....

Doubt you'd get ready shaped but correct length with right unions should be too difficult. Have you asked the Skoda owners club if anyone has a list of the lengths and type of fittings so you you don't have to crawl under your car to measure and then you could go to a motor factors etc to get them made up ?

I've just had to do all the front end and the front to back line on my 120Lfive They are just normal metric ends I'm sure. I just put it on a set of ramps at the front, took out the spare wheel and crawled underneath it for a bit. From what I've been told it is generally just the front end pipes that go. Interestingly it is a single brake line to the rear and DON'T do what I nearly did and rip out the hydraulic clutch line!!!!

I had a S reg 105S and it failed MOT on main front to rear brake pipe when 5 years old. I've a flaring tool so crawled underneath to take the old one off as a pattern for making new. When I pulled it from the clip under the rear seat / footwell area a big piece of floor around 6" came away as well. Remember this was on a 5 year old car It was the only rust / rot on the car and I reckon caused by underseal in this area that blocked the drain hole (rear facing bend flap of floor metal) Paul h

Ok, thanks......looks like i`ll just have to get under it and get old ones off, was hoping to do a quick off/on jobby to minimise down time!......
Mind you, the innevitable welding that I have to do before the nxt fast approaching MOT will need sorting so I guess i`m off the road for a week or two anyway......
Oh yes, and then theres the brake caliper issue...and the battery...and the leaking fuel tank....and the dodgy wiring....and the rear tyres and the .............time for the pub I think!

Definately metric unions. Be aware that the brake pipe junction block can crumble away when unscrewing the pipes from it. I have about ten fuel tanks! [as you do] If you're ever in the area come and see me at the barn...lot's and lot's of Skoda activity going on there. Joining the Owners' Club would also be a great idea...sorry for the plug!

Will defo be joining owners club......and when we finally get back on the road i`ll pop over, have friends near Cambridge so could tie it all in.....I ould tap you for a tank to save me checking on the putty every trip!
I might get one of those blocks anyway, I see they`re not that expensive and be a shame to hold job up for such as a small item....
While on subject.....can I presume that the twin pot calipers and discs can be fitted easily enough to my 120?....I spied a second hand set cheapish and my std jobbies bores have now gone so would need major work to reseal etc.....or a new/exchange set....just a thought.

You need to change the front hubs over as well. The spacing of the mounting holes on the 4 pot calipers is different to the 2 pots, so the are not quite a straight swap.

Truth be told the 4 pot calipers aren't a huge improvement over the 2 pot ones and it's a bit of a carry on to do the conversion...IMO not really worth it.

Yes, still looking for tank......as with everyone else my budget has taken a hammering last few weeks......so to cut to the chase....how much and where are you? Cheers
Also on hunt for some std alloys (did they also do steels?) if anyone knows of some going spare perhaps drop me a line?
Thinkin the std brakes are fine then....i`ll just exchange the calipers.....I was only toying with the twin pot idea as a set were available, but too much altering for not enough gain in my opinion on the info i`ve been given.....
