HI All May be looking for a more family oriented - but 'fun' car in a swap for my 1990 G plate 944 S2... what have you got? Guards Red with white leather interior. High miles at 200K but good condition throughout and reasonably good history. MOT Sept 12 and Tax July 12. Just had belts and all pulleys replaced so that is good for a few years. Clutch and drive shafts were replaced 12k ago. Has had sunroof gears so that works fine Porsche thatcham immobiliser fitted . Car is solid sills all good no rot or rust underneath. All in all it is a good clean car, it does have age related marks, stone chips on the front bumper, couple of marks and a little patch on the roof of laquer peel which is very small. Cheers

Thanks for the thoughts all - but think I am settling on some similar combination to an MX5/CRX (fun car) and family friendly runabout (working on a value of 2K for the 944 s2)....?

What you really want is an e34 BMW M5. What I really want is to swap my e34 M5 for a 944S2... Let me know if you're interested...

Hi Ian,
We seem to keep crossing over on cars, one day we might actually do a deal!
I've got an mx5 at the moment, although I'm confused as to how it's a family car!!
Anyway the car I have is black, mk1 1996, 1.8 IS so has electric windows, silver speaker plates, abs, airbag, spoiler etc.
Truth be told it's a lovely little car, solid sills too which is a novelty, arches do need doing but happy to do them as part of a deal. Just over 100k on the clock long tax and mot till nov from memory.
With the best will in the world your car is probably worth more than a tidy mx5 mk1, so depending on yours I'd probably expect to put a bit of cash to the deal. Depends how much really.
Interested?

Hi oliver yes - the mx5 is not a family car!- the original subject line had me thinking about a weekend car and a weekday family car is exchange/deal for the S2. So I guess it's what you value the MX5 as to allow a decent runaround to also be purchased? Pm me? Cheers Ian
