sort of leading on from the "jack it all in" thread.
i looked at the buggy the other day and thought about jacking it in. took it out today and got a light flash from a beetle, a "nice one" from the token "cool" school teacher (you know, the one who if he saw you underage drinking hed probably get a round in) and a devils horns gesture from someone in an escort. all in half an hour!
so to help anyone else whos thinking of jacking it all in, whats the best comment youv had about your cars?
the more i think about it the more i think that the horns gesture was the "call me" gesture. it was a guy...

To me and my dad at the nurburgring: "Finally a different Subaru! None of those nasty blue and yellow color schemes, gold wheels or twin headlamps!" The other guy we were talking to owns a blue Impreza STi with yellow graphics, twin headlamps and gold wheels. I had so many positive comments at CARS the best of which was from CappucinoCruiser: "This guy is a winner, all kids should build their own cars!" ;D

At school the usual conversation is:
'How fast will it go' 'about 120mph' 'Thats well slow my dads BMW will do 180mph' *slight giggle safe in the knowledge that a) it will get to 60 before they're put their beemer into drive and b) they're talking out of their rear end*

Driving the cortina the other day some geezer hung out the window of a new shape 5 series bmw and shouted 'thats the effking bollards mate' which was quite nice. The merc turns a few heads too but thats normally because of the scraping noises it makes when it so much as looks at a speed bump.

No comment is good comment enough.
As all I usually get is 'hahahhahahha, look at that old crock of turd'.
I will be the first to confess that in several cases these 'voices of the people' have been actually very correct.

It really makes me laugh being misunderstood by new BMW driving dullards. The thing is you are clearly more intelligent as you know that his car is "fu*king Bollards", how ever you also manage to keep it inside your head!

I feel you misunderstand me mr impblower sir. He actually said the bollards as in good, rather than a load of bollards. It surprised me a little too that someone in a new bm could actually 'get' my car but thats what was quite nice about it.

Summer night, a couple of months ago, and yours truly is driving his POS slowly through Paceville (the part of Malta with all the pubs/bars/clubs etc.). Two girls standing at the side of the road, speaking in french. As soon as I pass in front of them, they start pointing at my car and screaming : "Vois ! Une BX ! Une BX !" Weird or cool moment, I have yet to decide. One thing's for sure, though : Ferraris are overrated [or, alternatively, : sober girls are overrated ;D ;D ;D ]

"Oh, my grandad had one of those, his was the 'Mexico' though!" D'oh! ;D Stuff like that always happens....like my tow driver who was convinced they came with Twin 45's as standard..despite my protestations and the fact there were three of the damned things parked on the drive ;D I always get pleasant comments from all sorts wherever, around town, petrol stations, car parks, club Some friends are a bit confused by it and don't really know wether to like it or hate it so they just sway in the balance. Best comment ...Ooof....can't decide. I'll post back if I remember one. Funniest (about my 1500) from a 12 year old lad smoking a fag on a wall. "Did you steal that?" "Er, no, it's my car!" "Well thas fuggin wikkid car mate, I'd f'ing blag that any day. Where do you live?" ;D

Oooh oooh I remember! Was in a service station coming back from Coventry - extremely pretty twenty something walked past my car (I was sitting in the cafe watching the traffic and relfecting on the journey), stopped, walked back, kinda looked around (crouched down to be level with it) ..... then stroked its wing affectionately a few times before kissing her hand and placing it on the bonnet! Must have had one before but I was really flattered even tho I wasn't by it
