It's soon time for the sleeping retros to come out of hibernation, and their owners likewise. Prime time for a happy retro thread! Since finding it, I've been spreading the joy that is this picture. Everytime I feel a bit grumpy about something I remember this picture, it's the perfect antidote. All I want to see is pictures that feature both of these things: > Happy people > Old cars Alternatively: > Old people > Happy cars

You can't really see the smile in the shadows, but it's very much there - this is me, aged almost-seventeen, having just bought my first car. Check out the rapacious rust, weirdly half-painted grille and stick-on green stripes! (All of which gave me something to focus on fixing until I turned 17 and could actually drive the thing).

I Have the tax renewal form sitting right in front of me for this, Took it off the road in November and soooo tempted to retax it and roll her out of storage. Pic taken at RR Gathering and the smile shows the happiness, Probably the fact I'm wearing a mullet wig tho. TBH I have a garage full of MOTd motors just no tax that I wanna roll in again but I'm thinking its too soon.

Dragging this thread up because: a) That first picture makes me smile b) Whilst reading through my project thread on mk2cav.com, I stumbled across this. We'd just got the c20xe in my cavalier running properly and she was proving to be an utter handful in the wet! As shown by the mud spatter! (the horrific anti-rake has been sorted out since that picture! In the only way possible... lowering the front!) along with bigger brakes and more de-wiring ;D

Not my motor (belongs to an equally-happy Lil Miss Grunty, who's sat in the passenger seat) but a happy (and drunk, if I remember correctly) me on the Friday afternoon on the Gathering campsite. Bring on British Summer Time. Two more weeks. ;D
