Guys i'm after £300. The tax just cost me £120 the parts and work i have done to it cost me over £400 and the car itself cost me £300. Fair price considering it still has 2 and a half months MOT and 6 months tax.

To be honest your best bet is to cut the cat off, strip the obvious (lights, interior, window regs, alloys) and weigh the rest in. I'm picking up good running 16v golfs for around £200 with tax and test. Sadly the mk3 golf is an unloved car and there are so many good cheap ones out there not many will bother with one with an undiagnosed fault.
Sorry if that sounds a little harsh but it's the sad reality. You should see your £300 stripping / scrapping it.
