Got a few hoses to change, original manufacturer used constant pressure hose clamps this type Is it worth buying Hose clamp pliers, Or just go at them with mole grips/ big pliers or something. Also how reuseable are they? I'm thinking of just replacing them with jubilee clips as thats what I've always worked with before.

They're perfectly reusable, and are used because they keep a constant clamping force even when the hose/joint expands and contracts (and the fact that they are a lot quicker to fit when the car is made). Apparently jubilee clips can slowly work their way off through a load of heat/cool cycles.
I personally just use big pliers for removing these, but every time I swear "TOMORROW I'M GOING TO BUY THE PROPER TOOL FOR THESE BUGGERS" and never do.

Yeah that's them. My pal has some that have the actual business end on one end of a cable and the handle on the other, like these: They're absolutely brilliant, but 5 times as expensive.

CP hose clamps are really great if you have the correct tool, or a nice pair of grips. Taking them off if easy peasy (if you're using the wrong tools for removal then a little squirt of WD40 will help you slide the clamp down the hose once released) A good tip that can save you a lot of ball-ache when removing/re-fitting these (again, if you're using mole grips or something similar) is to put the clamp on a socket that is the same width as the hosing that the clamp came off. This will stop the clamp closing up, which can be a right to get it open enough to get back on.

I usually use mole grips, open them right out so they sit properly on the lugs, then wind them in as far as you can with the adjuster, then just squeeze them that last extra bit to get them off.

Been hurt to many times short cutting using pliers and mole grips in the past TRUE it might work for you BUT. The proper tool is by far the safest option to go for and they are a once only purchase and they will be with you for life
