As you may know, I lost the crank pulley bolt out of my Buick V6. I think it could be the same as one from a Rover V8 (as the Buick 215 became the Rover V8 and the Buick V6 is derived from the 215 V8)
How can I easily measure the bolt I will need with the whole thing in situ?
I'm hoping I can just replace the bolt!

I'll ring 'em in the morning. I can imagine that a crank pulley bolt is not something they keep on the shelf. Rock Auto doesnt
DB Motors will have one, its persuading him to go pull it off the car quickly thats the problem...

Imperial stuff is defined as major diameter and Threads Per Inch (TPI). It'll be a fraction diameter and a round number of threads per inch so you can just measure it and count an inch of threads. It you take a bit of 1" masking tape and wrap it around the bolt you have it'll make counting easier, just mark them with a sharp pen as you go.
Whether is a sensible combination of TPI and diameter is another matter.
