Better off buying a decent one and then 'antiquing' it. You can pick up a road-legal 910 for pennies... leave this heap for the banger lads to play with

I'm tempted to agree with pog - a good 'un could be found for beer money, leaving the unsaveable one for the banger boys to have fun with. Buuuuuuut if it's free or nearly free, and there's not that much wrong with it apart from a bit of cosmetics, why not!

Don't buy a good one and "distress" it, if that's the look you're after, get this one and make it 100% spot on.
OK, it may not be the cheapest route, given the value of the cars, but.....
"pre-faded jeans"
"worn-look T Shirts"
"Messed up look hair products"
For those 3 reasons, you should understand why making something look like it's been rescued is very, very wrong.

"pre-faded jeans" "worn-look T Shirts" "Messed up look hair products" These all come naturally for me usually! ;D This old datty might be worth a look, you never know it might clean up like my Canal find did. Someone just bought one of these off ebay didn't they, forget the name though , might be worth checking readers rides. he found some crusty bits.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Someone just bought one of these off ebay didn't they, forget the name though , might be worth checking readers rides. he found some crusty bits. I believe that was me. I've punted that on now because it was just going to turn into a huge money pit. There was rot all over the shop - in the floors, both spring cups were barely there, arches, sills, etc. How it got an MOT I have no idea. Mechanically it was excellent, though. If you do get it favoritsid, check everywhere for rot!

I had a 910 too odin, and recently passed it on for much of the same reasons - they are pretty neat to drive, RWD and are a good compromise for owning a retro car with relative modernity, but its not high up on the Datsun wants list. Does the car look like any of these? 1st generation Bluebird 72-77 2nd 1977-1980 3rd 1980-1984

its an 80 - 84 one i havent had chance to ave a proper loom yet but will check it out one day in the next week as its a 2min walk from my work. Its not really what I'm after but if its free and not too bad ill get it, but then again if its totaly rotten i wont as i cant be arsed to spend that much time welding it back together and fabricating parts and panels. Id much rather find a dirt cheap estelle or other old skool skoda to do.
