Right, ford moved the thermostat so it's not under the thermostat housing, and is in fact in a cannister connected by 3 hoses further up the cooling system.
has anyone changed one of these? I don't know if you have to change the whole unit or whether you can open it up and replace the stat inside. most parts sites list the same stat as should be under the housing on the block but I know it shouldn't go under there. besides which a previous owner has rounded the heads on the blocks stst housing so I couldn't get it off if I wanted to.
any Ford experts able to point me in the right direction
