I have in my head a vision of a lime green Princess with a brown Vinyl roof. I like the idea of having one and once I get bored of the Golf it'll be a lottery of what I end up with, could well be some more old British tin....

Its not that I can't find one, its that I can find cars I'd rather own. When it comes down to it, its a dating game restricted by space and resources or else I'd own like a thousand cars

I vaguely regret not buying a Princess 2200 stretch limo I saw for sale in the mid or late 90s for £475 it was mint in and out. I wonder what became of it, although I suspect I know, same as what happens to most cheap limos in the end.

a friend of mines stepfather bought a princess limo in the early/mid 90s for his carpet fitting job. He had a full length transit roofrack on it and half a dozen carpets. It was great fun. Could be the same one Akku?

Foxy - a white one, for sale in Coventry.
Oddly a couple of the local carpet places here used to run hearses for the same reason.

Got to say I really, really want the dash and wheel out of that green one, but only if I can put my wood trim into it. Interiors for Princesses are made of unobtanium, in part because the owners club apparently buy up all the parts and only release them to members (of which I am not one) but also because Princesses are fairly rare now.

That's nice of them, really helpful to non members scrabbling around for parts.
I'm surprised a company like David Manners doesn't supply parts for all the late BL cars.

Seems to be a standard thing with owners clubs from what I've seen, especially if it's a rare or unusual marque/model. It's like being bribed to join the club. I've heard stories of other clubs refusing to give parts to members if they don't toe the club line when it comes to originality and modifications too.
I do plan to look into the Princess owners club (it's £15 per year though, +£5 joining fee for the first year) to see if it would be worth my while.

^^ I may have joined the sidevalve owners club back in the day with my crossflowed 100e, and told them I was restoring it back to standard...
ironically I now own 3 sidevalve 100e motors, and no 100e....

There's not much point in joining the PAOC. They don't really do much, and as for parts you can call their spares man direct as he's always happy to help. He will ask if you are a club member but he won't turn your money away if he has what you want. In any case, most Wedge service parts are readily available on ebay; a 1700 cambelt is £3.00 on ebay, £11.00 from the club...

I'll have that one please. As is. Well, maybe a slight drop. And maybe a big set of gloss black steel wheels (for occasional use only). And maybe a northstar.
