Just spent some time on this over the weekend, so here she is again. Will consider offers, Part Ex or Swpas.
1998 Rover 216 Si Auto
1.6 Petrol
5 door
60,000 miles, but rising as it's a daily driver!
British Racing Green
Tax until end of May, Tested until June
£599 ono £400 for RR's
darrank@yahoo.com or 07805 188323 (text or call)
Headgasket, waterpump, timing belt, exhaust and battery all replaced when we brought it a year ago. New Tyres, Aux Belt, Front Brake Pads, Sony CD/Radio, Electric window fittings and heater rear window relays replaced since then.
Original Handbook, Service book, Car Mats and Wheel Trims along with receipts since we've owned it.
Remote Central Locking, Electric Windows, Electric Sunroof, Alarm, Immobiliser, Folding rear seats, etc etc
5 speed Auto box with low ratio option and Rover engine are good, strong, change up and down perfectly, and cruise along without any nasty noises.
Fantastic on a run (40+mpg) and will sit at motorway speeds brilliantly. The suspension is awesome - incredibly smooth!
Note that she is 14 years old so there are scratches on the paintwork, but she polishes well and most of them would polish right out if you had the time or inclanation...
The remote central locking fob needs a new unlock button, so we just use the key, but the fob does still work, it's just awkward to use.
Small dent in passender wing and door. We've had it pulled out and you can hardly see it now, in fact it was tricky to photograph!
All in all a good honest car that had served us well, but we need something smaller. Will consider offers and swaps for a small automatic. Try us, the worst we can say in no!
