This is the Passat 1.6C, its about as basic as it gets. Its got a carburettor motor, 5 speed manual (its the 4+E box) no PAS, no lecky windows, nothing.
You do get a nice quartz clock, tilt/slide sunroof and a rear spoiler...
Its got a period manual tuning Blaupunkt stereo in it.
It comes with a bunch of service history plus of course the highly prized addition of having my name on the V5C...
Faults...
the odometer works when it feels like it* so the mileage up above is not accurate. Speedo works fine though.
driver's seat is very worn, although you get a set of new front seat covers and I'll even chuck in a Huntmaster bucket seat in sort-of-matching grey cloth.
headliner is sagging in a few places.
its got plenty of stone chips, scuffs, and so on.
but the good...
Its a great load lugger / parts chaser
its surprisingly economical
starts first time every time
couple of nearly new tyres
pile of service history with it
I bought it as a winter hack / DIY hauler and its performed admirably. It flew through its last MOT with nothing needed. MOT tester commented how incredibly sound it was underneath. Never welded underneath except a couple of bits at the back ends of the sills each side.
cleaned it up as I've never even washed it and amazed how nice it came up. Looks nicer in the photos than real life obviously.
I'll whack some more photos up tomorrow, not cleaned inside it yet or anything.
