am i the only one with a thing about favorits. I have a 94 silverline glxie estate and am building a new engine for it, it is still going to be a 1300 pusher but with ported and polished head lightened flywheel a custom made ali air intake and decated , is it worth it and does anyone know if this will make much difference at all. ;D I have already been playing with intakes and seem to have got a small increase in power and loads of induction roar from it lol. Am i really a total dumbass

quality so it aint just me then. Do you guys think its worth me doing the bits I'm doing to my new lump or will it just go bang , ive been looking at the down pipe too where it goes from two into one and think that with a bit of cutting and welding a better flow could be gained through the merge.

good good the lump ive got came from a 50quid hatch from ebay that was in better nick than my estate it only had 50k on it too. Any advise or ideas for other stuff to do to it would be handy. I'm a skoda convert used to be into dubs and fords but when my stupid quick shed heap of a mk1 mondy blew up i needed a cheap car quick and after test driving the favvy i fell for it. Plan was leave it alone and just use it but its cool and gotta be done now. Any links for tuning ideas would be handy the plan is that i only pay for gaskets and bits the rest i will machine or fabricate at work. It will be satin black when done too as my last slammed mk2 golf was satin black and looked cool

First thing is to get rid of the catalyst. The MPi head from the later 1.3 Felicia is better too,has better flow ect. Apparantly an S110R camshaft is ideal too, though TBH I'm not an expert on performance tuning. Sorry if advertising other forums is wrong but it's worth talking with Ken on Sko-forum. Go to www.skoda-owners-club.org and look on the 4 Skoda forums on the links page. Our very own vrskodanorman runs the NESkud one.

I've had a Favorit too. Good fun. And if you have an day spare, get yourself to Curborough Sprint track near Lichfield, Staffordshire on the 21st October.
Big Skoda gathering on track, happens every year. Good crack and you get to see the cars getting properly driven.

My father has a 'blackline' Favvy that I'll get round to sorting & modding eventually. 'ironic cool', and at the same time a thoroughly decent car

suprisingly my glxie is quite quick and ive only taken the pipework of the airbox and replaced it with a straight tube to the front without warm air pickup.
I'm avin problems registering on sko forums

it's worth talking with Ken on Sko-forum. please note i claimed coolness by association first!!! you're going to have to change it back to a cat and injection every time you go to mot it if you run it right, ie with a carb and decat! unless you can keep emissions down but do you need a cat anyway? (dave tell us!) if you're not lowering it, at least give it new dampers, they go a bit sometimes. polybushes help muchly much, and of course perspex windows if you can be arsed! also, the wheels on it (alloys I'm sure) are great with some good rubber in original sizes on them, really good responsive handling. obviously while porting and polishing renew everything, which really helps on these, and see if you can add a fuel pump if you go carb route. an s110r camshaft is rare like the old adage, but can be machined from an estelle one and therfore from the one you have in your engines i would presume. lightened pistons are available from CZ and so are 1400cc liners if you want! gives it a tiny bit more poke, but from the 68bhp on a glxie (iirc) you can reach 100 easily with that lot.

i was going to leave it single point and decat it but still put cat back for mot as its a 94 it will need it. Shocks ive already replaced as mine rotted through , tyres are done. Is there much to be gained from carbing it and the agro of a cam change. Also if i carb it will it run on the coil pack thats there or will i need to change that too. My plan with the single point was an ali airbox thats plumbed into the plastic shroud for the heater intake so as to only draw cold air in through the vent in the bonnet.

I think you can run the injection ignition system still if you leave the sensors in place, and swap to carbs. I know a lot of the Rapid RiCs switched from Bendix injection the carbs but kept the electronics for the ignition.
