Fantastic purchase. Total bargain. It looks mega tidy in those pics and respect to the guy for looking after it so well.
Sometimes there are cars that you'd just embarrass yourself haggling over for the sake of a few quid.

That looks a belting find. Have recently been having very salacious thoughts about Sierra Estates.

The only thing thats making me consider not keep it is the road tax cost. I'm tighter than a ducks back end, and £200+ a year tax on cars scares me.
I've been reading up on small block conversions. Rover 3.5 is a good choice, but I just want more grunt.
3.9 or 4.6 is tempting. Lexus lump is a bit big.
Going to see how the MOT goes tomorrow and go from there.

That does look very clean and lovely colour too but it does seem a shame to start messing about with the engine after the old boy cared for it so long, as for road tax, I spend over £550 a year on my 3 cars!

Bagged yourself a Minter there mate. I pay £200+ a year for the Golf, it's just the way it is now. In fact, I've got one of those Post Office saver cards and stick £5 or £10 on it every now and then so when I do come to tax it, it doesn't hurt half as much.

I know its a bit of a contradiction, I just figure if you are going to spend £200+ a year on tax on a car, you might as well get the most litre/£ out of it. ;D
Already had quite a few offers on it and I've only owned it a day and a half. !

So all my "toys" become tax exempt and the daily is a larger engined PLG thing.

If you're not sure about it, stick an MOT on it, put 6 months ticket on it and make a profit? Can't see why you wouldn't make some money on it.
