hi everyone. the time has come that help is needed on the trusty sunny. first things first its a 1995 1.4 5dr jobbie with all the electrics.
now the problem that I'm hoping someone can advise me on. basically the passenger side headlight stopped working, nothing dipped or main and the full beam light came on even when it wasnt on full beam. oh and the buzzing noise (the one that tells you the lights are left on when you open the door) happens whenever just sidelights are used.
the other problem is the central locking playing up i.e it locks all doors fine but not unlocks from the key (but works fine from inside the car using the lock/unlock button inside. but also it keeps locking and unlocking itself whilst the car is moving.
Now the really bad bit. because we thought it was just the bulb gone we bought another bulb (only a cheapie so no big deal) and when we went to put it in, noticed that the headlight bulb holder was actually melted
the connections were anyway. it was dark but looked to us like this was part of the main wiring loom.
Now the questions:
a) is the central locking and headlight linked possibly (don't know if they are linked in the wiring as both started at the same time roughly)
b)is there a probable cause of the problem that we should check out first (any common faults to cause this)
c) obviously we need to replace the bulb holder but is this part of the main wiring loom or is there a connector somewhere.
would really appreciate any help, big or small, so we can investigate as electrics arent our favourite thing in the world haha. just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience in any other cars that could possibly advise further at least where to look.
