Well, you've read the story, now own the star. To help make space for something big, blue and VX4/90 flavoured, I need to sell the grey Disco. Coupled with the fact MonzaNikki neds to use a more frugal car and I know it will just sit around unless I sell it.
P reg, 1996, 5 door 7 seat, 175k but replaced engine at 170k also new radiator, expansion tank, head gasket etc etc and serviced.
Just done our mammoth run all round Suffolk and to and from with the horsebox on the back without any troubles. We did the better part of 800 miles in a week!
5 Pirelli Scorpions (road bias) with varying tread but I think I also have a couple more useable ones off rims.
Rubber mats and front seat covers.
I have returned it largely to original spec so orange indicators etc and the General Grabbers are not available, sorry.
It has the proper softline 5 spoke alloys for a 300Tdi
The good:
Drives really nicely
Auto is smooth
Comfortable
Almost everything works (no cruise)
Dry (yes really)
Remote locking, 2 sets of keys and remotes
Good colour
Heavy duty tow gear not the lightweight cheap kit.
The bad.....
Always needs a bit of glow to start, not had time or energy to see why. It has never failed to start so I haven't really had a problem.
Couple of dents in front wings, small one in front edge of nearside, large one below the rubbing strip rear end of offside (you won't see it when it's dirty).
Water stains on the seats from a time when it did leak (twin roofs, not tested as that would be asking for trouble)
Drivers door has had a respray which, at one particular angle, is a totally different colour, if I hadn't told you, you wouldn't notice...
The ugly....
This truck has had a lot of welding. Now, I've seen a lot of Discoveries and I have never seen one with so much new metal. The body, fair enough, they rot, but it has has feet and feet in the chassis. It was obviously done a long time ago and done well but I was just surprised as to how much had been put in.
All in all a good useable truck which will tow lots all day long, at least all the welding has been done so it shoudn't need anything for ages. Despite me being rude about its underbits it isn't a shed at all and it isn't really cosmetically challenged.
Tax this month, MOT November.
oiro £1600 I guess
