Right now that the formal bits are out of the way! I bought this car after starting a new job this year and having a 40 mile commute I wanted something cheap and economical. I am now in the process of moving within 5 miles of my workplace (wahoo!) so would prefer a smaller petrol engined car. I tested the mpg and put £20 diesel. Did 180 miles on this driving with a light foot and with my sketchy maths worked it out to be doing 57mpg. Not too bad for a 16 year old car!
It is very original and was owned by an old boy before me. It has receipts for various parts fitted and the original peugeot book is showing service history up until 88000 miles. The car is on 197000 so I guess it must have been privately serviced there after or else it wouldn't still be going now!
When I bought the car I had it serviced with oil and filter change. Also fuel line flusher. My mechanic who does the servicing also does my mots and I had him look it over ready for the next one. He said the only thing it would need doing is the front tyres. As you can see it has an aftermarket airfilter fitted, this is because the original air filter fell out whilst driving! If you know peugeots it sits on the floor near the inner wing. It was cheaper and easier for me to fit the cone filter.
As with any car of this age there are a few bad bits. One of the headlights has a crack, the driver's seat bolster is slightly frayed and the boot does not open with the central locking.
It also has the keypad immobiliser but I have disconnected this as It gone on my nerves having to punch the code in everytime you get in the car. I installed an aftermarket cd player, fitted with an ipod lead which gives you control over the ipod through the headunit.
If you need to ask my any questions then contact me on 07743708583.
Thanks.
