As title really - trying to decide whether to put the effort and money into getting the viva dragged down to bournemouth and crack on with the conversion/original plan or concentrate on the running (t&t'ed) capri and get that up to a good standard? This is with having to juggle the first year of my law course as well. Bite the bullet or slog on? There is a helluva lot work left to do but I have the added advantage of having somewhere to work on it at bournemouth (namely my drive). The state that it's in at the mo (i.e. largely the same as a two months ago - damn capri): ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/tigran86/DSCF1500.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/tigran86/DSCF1499.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/tigran86/DSCF1501.jpg) p.s. tried to add poll but i'm too much of an illiterate to work it aaaaht.

Personally I think you should sell up. One car is often more than enough.

Keep the Viva as is for now (do 'storage' work, i.e. waxoil areas etc.) and keep Capri running. If you only have Two cars 'on your back' so to speak of which one is running/on road then you might as well keep t'other if you've got storage. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Hmmm.
First time i have seen this and it looks a billion time better than the little avtar, looks pretty good in the pics, I'd say if you can afford it and your hearts still in it slog on, makings of a very cool machine. keeping the Capri on the road will take bits of TLC and odd costs, just don't go mad modding the Capri and you might be ok, up to you though, weigh it all up.

I say flog it. I think that the 'grand designs' you have are pretty adventurous... certainly beyond the realms of driveway project on a POV student budget. Maximise the time & effort turning the already running & legal Capri into a KOOL RIDE, and think again about mega projects when you are a fully qualified greedy money grabbing b'stard lawyer ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

So what are you planning to do to this what did i miss? and is it solid, completish? Looks cool, tempted to offer you a wedge of money i don't have for it ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) . If it burgers up your study/drinking time/money then its best to rid, they can get in the way.

I'm not a party maniac in the first place - so the money side is cool. The plan is to get a daimler V8 which i have laying around in, then do the usual RR thing of slamming and raking.
The thing is I won't get more than 200quid for it on a good day - so I might as well keep it - I'll either get a lot more done during uni/ it'll 'do a dub/escort' on me/ I'll get the same as I would now for it.
Ho hum.

Daimler V8 2.5 = Good engine, 140BHP, revs nicely but weighs a STACK and costs a fortune to rebuild. Damiler V8 4.5 = Great engines, seriously tunable but cost an absolute FORTUNE to rebuild. Getting parts for them is nightmarish these days. Much better off with an RV8 in this instance methinks! Be a much more flexible unit ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Still, massive "props" to you if you do that ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) ![](http://www.bmeengine.com/gfx/props/bipeprop.jpg)

So with the continuation of this thread it looks like you will keep it ...Good and so you should, NICE car!
However... You say you wish to put a Damilar V8 in ...hmmm???
Reason I question is that as I remember in the 80's (down London/Chelsea Cruise etc.) it was in fact quite popular to stick in a GM/Buick V8 or 6 in 'em. I'm not exactly sure which (but sure a R/R member like Alistark wll know more), as memory is mashed to b*uggery but do remember that even magazines like Car &Car conversions did a feature about such fitments (which did suprise me as surely this was Street Machine magazines area of interest?).

It seems a good idea as it is so damn small so the fan only clears the crossmember by a couple of inches so the weight is way behind the front wheels. It also has pretty much the same power as the 3.5 rover lumps (also they're sitting in my garden at the mo).
