Just wanted to see what people thought who was to blame:
Drove my van down a hill in the snow, sat nav showed a way out at the end. It failed to inform us that there is a tunnel. 6'6" height restriction, so yes i was stuck. Called the AA to recover, hoping they would have something to take me up the hill. AA Man arrives, his van parked 1/2mile down the road, he insists that we try use this new spray formula that gives grip to your tyres. I had already called my lift and was planning to leave van till weather clears. We got a quarter way up, AA man driving. I'm clearing snow on one side and my mate on other. Citreon C4 coming down at top of hill, too much momentum. Clipped the side of my van and straight into the lamp post.
I'm going to call the insurance company tomorrow, has anyone else had this happen to them?
I have Third Party Insurance only, will the claim be coming from my insurance company?
Any help would be nice.

You weren't driving, so it's certainly not going to be paid by your company. The AA's insurers and the bloke in the C4 need to argue the toss.
Do not get your insurance company involved at all.

Ive already exchanged the details with the driver.
Should i call up my insurance company and inform them of the AA job details?

Like Cobblers said, The AA man and the C4 driver we're involved, not you. It just happened to be your car

Sounds fairly open and shut to me. Cars coming uphill have right of way anyway.

I suppose now you'd need to get in touch with your insurance and tell them the whole story. I'd probably give the AA a call too, and get to speak to someone who can handle this.
I'm quite surprised the AA man let you give your insurance details over actually. He's the one that should have done this, the accident isn't really anything to do with you since you weren't behind the wheel.
Regardless of who's fault the accident was, you don't need to make a claim on your insurance, and someone else will be paying to fix your van.
If the accident was the C4 drivers fault (Sounds this way, he's the one who was out of control) then it will be his insurers that fix your van. If it turns out to be the AA drivers fault, then the AA need to pay for your van to be repaired.

was gonna say if it was AA man driving then you cant be held responsible surely? best bet is to give inusrers details saying that AA guy was driving not you and they might pass it to them. either way, their insurance should cover it if it was their fault. if not then the citroens insurance should pay out.
if the citroen was coming down the hill then you have priority going uphill so citroen shouldnt have come down, like you said too much momentum so I'm guessing he was unable to stop at the top because of this and therefore it should be classed as his fault. not always the case as we know but hopefully it should go in your favour.

Kewl. I'll give em a call tomorrow. Van didn't get much damage it didn't even move from its incline position when the car hit it. C4 driver was a female!! I think the AA man was shook up more then us all put together. A call to the AA tomorrow to inform them of proceedings.
Thanks for your help

Strictly speaking, according to the highway code, the vehicle going UP the hill has right of way.

Correction going up a hill, stuck going up the hill. Didn't mean to offend anything but from a plebs point of view, just so happens to be male. Looking at the situation, distance and all. I think I would have had the car stopped with out damage. Maybe it's just my confidence too...

Depends how damaged/ good it is, is it worth asking them for a pay out and you keep the vehicle, repair it with used parts - commercials didn't need a VIC check

Haven't heard anything back from em yet. Was hoping I could ask them to pay me repair costs and I'll do it myself. Get an MOT done to check it over. Never know, I'll update once I know.
