The rover "L series" engined turbo diesels are overlooked by alot of people for some reason. I had a 620td as a garage runaround, came in as a part ex. I was suprised at how good it was considering their reputation as being boring old mans cars, I loved it.  |

Definitely agree mate. Only experience with the 600 I've had is with the 2.0 Honda Petrol, but I had the L-Series (both types) in the 400. The N-reg hatch was an SD (non-intercooled) and it was OK, but the R reg 'loon was the intercooled version as found in the 600 and it went like the proverbial (especially compared to the 2 Mondeo 1.8 Turbo Diesels I'd been running prior to the Rover's).Would have another without a doubt if I needed a cheap diesel runabout...
