Update : Managed to buy a second hand fuel tank locally, so that'll go in soon. Still no suspension so she remains on axle stands for now. (should be next week) New Sony CD/radio fitted. Although I will fit something more suited later. General tidy up of interior and boot. Fixed the passenger elec window, so all windows now work ok.  |

Second hand tank now fitted along with all new fuel hoses, etc. Front susp is on but the rears require e28 rear top mounts. So I've ordered some from BMW. Hopefully all will be done mid week. New discs and pads also fittted. All brakes bleed...  [/url] |

Got the susp all on now. Details of fitting to follow but for now...  Just needs a clean and somebody with a good camera! |

That's a great sneaky shot - go on give us some more. It's looking nice and low now - wasn't sure about the 17s at first, just think they are a little too big but seeing it lowered might change my opinion! What make is the sus and are they coilovers? Cheers.

No more pics until its clean. I haven't washed it since I bought it, so it needs it!
Its on staggered 18" BMW Style 5s not 17's!!!(8x18 front and 9x18 rear) And yes they are coilovers from a company called RPM. They are made by GAZ though and require e28 rear top mounts.

Whats the width and offset of the rear wheels, I always thought that Style 5's were too tight under the rear arches to lower it like you have Looks like I might be just about to rethink my wheel choice  |

Fronts : 8x18 et20 on 205/40/18 with 10mm spacer.
Rears : 9x18 et22 on 235/35/18 no spacers.
Had to roll the rear arches though!

Couple of details of installing the coilovers... Fronts : Front struts were sent away so that the coilover section can be welded onto the hub section. Standard top mount used and fits great. I might fit camber plates to the top mount to add a little more camber but that's later. The only issue was that the standard strut had a bracket for the brake lines. The coilovers came with a bracket but wasn't designed for a the brake lines. So I made a square bracket and drilled some holes...  Bracket is the shiny part and is bolted to the coilover bracket. Sorted. Rears : Rears require e28 rear top mounts and a 3.5mm spacer at the bottom. Difficult to see but you get the idea...  Could also do with assistor springs if you want the ride height as low as I have it, as the spring is loose when jacked up! Will give GAZ a call about that tomorrow. Car has been washed, clayed, machine polished, waxed and is looking good. Full pics tomorrow... |
