Has anyone ever converted between the 2?
I'm fitting a CBR1000f engine to a Reliant Kitten, the Kitten is cable operated and i was going to use the original pedal box, but the CBR engine has a hydraulic clutch.
I cant imagin it being too complicated to sort something, but i wondered if anyone had any information or advice on the conversion?
Thanks Jack

I'd imagine it would be easier to make it hydraulic. No cable to route and you can make the pipe as long or short as you like. OK it'll need some fabricating to make a mc fit but less than converting to cable operated.

Could try looking at a M-Cycle rear brake master cylinder to operate the clutch, that would be pretty easy to adapt to a pedal / pedal box I imagine, or even cable to a likkage to operate it ? You will have to play around with pedal ratios / throw to get teh feel you want anyway and this would be a pretty easy way to modify them ?

Have a look at some older BMW R**/6 series motorbikes. They have a cable from front brake lever going to a remote master cylinder. I bought a scrap scooter with similar set up - think it was a Piaggio Sfera.

Great idea on the motorbike rear brake master cylinder! I imagine that would be really easy to modify to fit! I thought there may be a pre-made system out there but wasnt sure, i can imagine it in my head, but for the effort of it all i may aswell modify the pedal box to take a motorbike rear cylinder i think!

your prop will foul the original hydraulic cylinder on the bike engine , i used a normal 3/4 bore girling /lucas cylinder . it needs a couple of small brackets making but nothing too serious i put a cbr 1000f in a regal a few years back

il dig a couple more out if i can find them but to re use the bike clutch slave means cutting a chunk of the sprocket cover away and it loses its strength to operate the clutch . the regal is a 3 wheeler but the engines position will be pretty much the same to get the prop in the right place .
have a trawl through google images for a green lhd kitten with a blade engine from holland and you will see how the engine sits
