Any form of news will do.
for ex:
My old Landie once broke down right across the Hammersmith roundabout. I had to phone a mate with a Suzuki Vitara to whizz out and tow me off (for shame) but in the meantime I was on the traffic news! LOL
obviously more famous is better!

Weirdly I was once stuck in traffic behind a roller with at the wheel. Sat their watching him get out of his car and look at the traffic then get on his mobile. Next thing his voice is coming out the radio, he'd only phoned his mate Steve Wright on the radio to moan about the traffic. So we got to listen to his moaning while watching him moan out of the front windscreen of the car!

there are a couple of guys in the imp club who have made the news, one guy tim, i think ran out of petrol or broke down on the m25 contraflow nr the dartford tunnel and tried to drive it across the carriageway on the starter when that siezed the gearbox solid completley blocking the road, caused a huge traffic jam, something like 15 miles or something, another guys car burst into flames in a rush hour trffic jam and got a mention, fire brigade and plod turned up en masse.

By curious coincidence this retro-related piece of news has just been posted on autoshite. Didn’t DarrenW get in his local rag for the Czech thing? Yep, I was just wondering if that qualifies ;D We got in two local papers, and on the Czech National News when the border police were being arsey about letting the cars into the country

About 13 years ago a friend of mine broke down in her Irish plated Renault 5 Flair in front of Scotland Yard. She wondered off to get help (pre mobile phone days) and came back to find the car cordoned off....it kind of sparked off a security alert.

They had to shut one of the Dartford tunnels for me once when I overheated on the way to the Essex nats one year. Don't think it made the news but I bet it screwed the traffic right up. Their fault at the end of the day, if there wasn't as much trafic I wouldn't have overheated.

I think my A (with me driving it) was on the Anglia news a couple of years back. Practical Classics did a photoshoot at Rockingham Speedway for the top 100 classics readers vote, and Anglia came and filmed it. I didn't see the piece, but I was reliably informed my car could be seen.

not the news but my car made it onto a history board of my school, ok the school was only built in the 70's so there wasnt any other exiting history to put on some stupid display board so apparently my "clingfilmed" fiesta made it to the board

I made it onto local radio travel reports when my front passanger wheel came off my Mini Clubman about two years ago now. On a friday night in rush hour traffic too I went from the middle lane straight accross the slow lane and onto the hard shoulder in the middle of the roadworks. Caused a tailback from just before M6 J6 to just past M6 J8 and also down too the M5
