with the show season pretty much over, and talk of winter already appearing on the forum it seems a good time to ask this. Whats your favourite show of the year, what one would you not dare miss?? obviously cars is a given for much of us, but I'm keen to see some other shows next year in other scenes. SO - whats the first show you stick in your diary?? For me, its wheels day

Last year when I was still 'new' I didn't say Retro Cars show. This year it was defo CaRS, just for meeting the gang here and other folks I know around the show, our Stand was Awesome and I was proud to be part of it even if it was in a Sapph 1.8, thats why I was so proud, cos it was all so diverse. Added another dimension to the show experience, perfect. loads going on at this show too which meant there were not enough hours. I didn't see quite as many shows in 2006 as 2005, but theres a few i didn't miss specially where travelling loads was involved. Another good one was a local; Tatton Park Classic Show, I'll send HTW some pics, not loads of modified stuff but bigger and better than i had imagined, we should do a small stand there next year.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Yep, CaRS is a MUST for next year.... Didn't get to meet many people though, 'cos being a bit of a cripple I couldn't camp, and the hot weather made me feel even more ill than I was! Looking forward to 2007!
I can't imagine missing the Street Rod Nationals, it's a great vibe there, and a good selection of cars. The laid-on entertainment can be a bit ropey, but who cares when your mates are there and beer is flowing. Top stuff!
Mersea Motor Madness is another good one - wide variety of cars, next to a beach; And the Ford day at Battlesbridge is always a great day out.

We wouldn't miss the Nats (10 minutes and we're there, took us longer to get the caravan back on the drive than it did to get there), Mersea Madness and the Ipswich Transpsort Musuem's Classic car run in May. I enjoyed Wheels Day earlier this year, shame most of the show at the begining of the year were wet!

For me/us Classics on the Common is unmissable and its not even on a weekend! The sheer quantity and variety is just superb. Hangin Dice is also always on our list as its the only weekend thing we go to and its great to be with a bunch of mates who we don't see very often. This year was our first time at CaRS and I will certainly try and get there again next year. It didn't quite hit all the buttons but that was because of the weather rather than anything else I think. The plan for next year is to try and get to some more events that are new to me, a hillclimb for instance and maybe even Goodwood if we're feeling flush (yeah, right!)

Lemans for me is the only one I hate to miss but I think it's off next year. I like to get to either the nats or supernats, I might alternate them year on year.

I did Wheels day 3 times in a row and I've left it for a while now, as I was getting a bit bored of seeing the same stuff.
I don't like the new site too much.
It's still ace tho, and worth it if you haven't been before.
Other than that - the Festival of Speed and C.A.R.S are shows I just can't miss! ;D
Very partial to the NASC and NSRA shows!

All I went to was a little local "general classics" type one, not much to see really! Fancy CARS for next year if I'm allowed to stick my T-reg in, I'll put Japanese plates on or something to add confusion to the age, that might work.

keefy in da house: Whats your favourite show of the year, what one would you not dare miss??
Not really a show person but there are some that always are booked, first out is the Stockholm MC Show (late January) where I as usally work on the Aprilia stand, then it's The Italian Clubs May1 gathering at Skokloster. Later on during summer it's Blacksmiths, Hot Rod Reunion & Rat Fink Reunion overe here and the BIG event of the year and a NO MISS is Wheels Nationals & Stockholm Cruising late in August, that's about it.....
DP says: Almost every night at "Nordpost" stunting with my crew, Skitskraj MC during summer.....

I really enjoy car shows and CARS was great this year, unfortunately they are always well down my list of priorities. I was lucky the way CARS fell this year so managed to make it and I will try again in the future, but otherwise I just go to what I can.
