Drove to work in the Buick today and it has started...
condensation all over the car, wiped off the glass and by the time you do the last one the first one has misted over again. So drive to work with the windows down and the blower on full (and blowing cold of course)
White knuckles by the time I'm in the work car park and a little stressed form the lack of visibility and having to keep wipe the screens means forget wearing that static seat belt...
Its about this time of year I start thinking of buying a cheapo modernish daily hack.
ANyone else staring to feel the season closing in?

Noticed it this morning too... I just dug the Parka out the wardrobe, ready to embark on a winter of daily driving a Splitty with no heaters. Can't wait ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Dollies have some of the best heaters out there, so winter's never really an issue. My 1850 loved the snow and frost ;D ![](http://www.antchip.com/emailsnowblast.jpg) Winta! ;D Always fun pootling up and down hills past beached S classes, stuck Saab 9-3s, wheelspinning Corsas and the like, as they struggle in the snow..... ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

Was commenting this morning that the best heater I've ever seen in a car was in the Fiat Seicento we had, awesome. Most cars I've owned have had no heater... ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

I hate that in winter, I never used to suffer from it in the Midget dunno why must be becuase its smaller, but the GT really heks me off. I am starting to think shall I put the car away for winter now but part of me says NO as its a car its meant to be used.

Know the feeling. We're having pangs for buying a more modern "winter" car though for us that means a Dolomite or something ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Heater in the Herald is pretty damn good though!

I must be getting older cos I'll not be driving the Monza thro the winter - I'll sorn it and park it. It's never had much of a heater at the best of times and now with a stripped out interior condensation will make it feel like it's raining in the car!!!! I'll use her Olop ;D - nice and small with a mega efficient heater that heats up the car nicely in under a couple of miles - Plus 40 mpg means lots of cash saved for funny fuel for the summer - Winter steels with proper snow tyres on ready to face the worst that our screwed up climate can throw at us and when everybody else daren't make the journey I know it will get me there no probs Yep that ticks all the boxes for me ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)

I'm getting old. A couple of years ago driving a big Chrysler V8 RWD/auto/PAS in the snow / ice and wondering if I was going to get home alive. 4350 lbs of wobbly blamange going sideways on a narrow street is not good for the nerves.

Well this will be the first winter i have been through, with a heater, and carpets, and no holes in te floor, and a roof lining, and no leaks, and a stereo.
Driving the imp in -5 was great fun, but not quite as much fun as my friend Gary's beach buggy. That had nothing but a windscreen and we have done the journey from petersfield to swansea in sub-zero temperatures, thats over 180 miles!
super fun

Apart from the unpredictable (i.e. I haven't learnt how to yet) tailslides that my van likes to do in the wet, the worry that the aged engine is going to kark and the 10mpg fuel consumption I'm loving it ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) The heater is serviceable, which helps ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Slumming the winter with a car with inadequate heater, poor demisting and candles for lights is all part of the retro experience! Unless of course you need to ferry family and kids around, then I'd consider something a bit more modern.
Last winter I wallowed around in my matt black Datsun wagon. My frostbite and kidneys damage have only just recovered.

wheelspinning Corsas and the like Wasn't me ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Time to apply lots of Rain-X and the Anti-Mist stuff to the windows, always makes it a bit easier I find ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
