Ok I have recently picked up a renault 19. One small problem, the rear door handle has broken, but I cant opne from the inside as child lock is engaged.
Doesnt look like I can take the interiror panel off without the door being open.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers

Can you remove the handle from the outside?

I think i can but suspect that the cable has fallen into the door. Going to try this but not overly optimistic.

I'd probably be trying to click the child lock off with a bit of coat hanger or something.

if the exterior handle is broken, you have nothing to loose by destroying it to get it off, then see if you can hook some thing with a coat hanger from the outside. Plan B is, technicaly you need the door open to remove the interior panel, but is you remove enough of the interior fittings off the door, you may still be able to wrangle it off with the door closed. Worse comes to worse, interior panel is cheaper than a door.

you should be able to pull the door seal off this should give you enough room to either get the trim panel off or fashion something to move the child lock switch, practice on the door that does open
