So as someone who used to own a Geo Prizm in a past life I have some sort of inexplicable appreciation for USDM "poverty spec" curse word. Shameful. I know. Don't tell anyone. I think it has something to do with the fact that you can't find those particular models of curse word here. We have different curse word. The curse word is always, er, browner? A bit like how the US VW crowd are all after euro bumpers and the euro lot are after USDM stuff. It's cool to be different. Anyway, I digress, the low end of the market over there has always been full of some pretty shocking cars, and the badge snobbery is so bad that nobody perseveres with the lower end makes. So it's cool to see less-obvious cheap stuff that's had time, thought and effort applied. It's nearly impossible to find a tasteful looking Geo Prizm, most are covered in chrome and bodykits - the best I could do is this: which is nice Here is another Geo, the car that rekindled my USDM poverty tat interest recently, iirc it has it's own thread on here somewhere. Or how about some Toyota Tercels? I saw (a newer) one on here the other day, but I can't remember which thread it was in. And here is another one I found today, a Ford Aspire: Not sure on the orange dish, but definitely thinking outside the box, those Aspires were HATEFUL, and it makes me happy to see one I like. Hyundai Accent anyone? Maybe a Mitsubishi Mirage? So, post some USDM tosh that has been made acceptable, if you're struggling for ideas, try the following ford aspire mazda 323 geo metro geo prism geo storm pontiac sunfire pontiac sunbird oldsmobile firenza chevy cavlalier isuzu impulse isuzu gemini isuzu stylus (these are cool) toyota tercel hyundai pony (aptly named) hyundai accent any saturn maybe a suzuki?

Anyone watch Top Gear USA on Friday? Rutledge was driving a Ford Festiva: er... yes, we'd call that a Kia Pride.

Early Chevy Cavalier and its clones are OK as they are J platform. Awesome tat. However the later ones I have less love for Personally I always fancied the Oldsmobile Firenza variation. of course the Cadillac Cimaron would be cream of the crop. There is one for sale here in the UK and it has been for sale about 2 years IIRC... stance, Isuzu 1.7TD motor, some nice rims and paint and I think you'd have the "WTF!" value as well as a half decent commuter.

yeah, it's a swift - they were called geo metros later on the contour is pretty far from what I had in mind when I started the thread, but I'm happy to let it go wherever you guys like have some Isuzu Syluses, er Stylii and a Gemini ^ that one is extra cool cause it has one of these: and an I-Mark

I'm also going to park my Mazda in here because in the US they're considered a bit poo, especially this model: I think this is a Civic with an Isuzu Gemini front end: And this be an Isuzu Gemini Irmscher on Zender Turbos:

Isuzu Aska anyone? I've always secretly wanted a Chevy Cavalier Wagon, but I can't find any great ones (possibly those two things are related) Here's one that's trying to be a Z24 (did they build one of these?) oh bum, the picture is mahooosive, have a link static.cargurus.com/images/site/2008/01/22/23/24/1994_chevrolet_cavalier_4_dr_std_wagon-pic-26140.jpeghere's a slightly better one aaaaw gyeaah, now that's much more like it, and sort of reminds me of that hamaazing gold thing from Carmageddon. If anyone's looking for more pics of these abhorrent (and therefore awesome) cars, the cavalier was also known as: Buick Skyhawk Cadillac Cimarron Oldsmobile Firenza Pontiac Sunbird Vauxhall Cavalier Isuzu Aska So it dawned on me a second ago that up until now this thread does not have one single solitary Saturn in it. How disappointing. Let's sort that now: ^ I reckon this one's awesome, yes even with those wheels Sadly, most of the ones that have been played with look like this: This one's much more like it I'll have mine with EXTRA SCENE RACK please err no wait - I meant without the rack didn't I? do like an estate - i mean Wagon gosh thats rather low isn't it MOOOAR (these are all the same car - seemingly owned by the scene rack dude) anyway, so maybe Saturns aren't that retro yet (noticed I've ignored Scions because they're even more not), if that's the case then I'll finish on some older tings right after a brief mazda 323 and a Protege or 2 ok last one okay, okay, older ^ last 2 are not very usdm, but still awesome

And here is another one I found today, a Ford Aspire: "Aspire"? In context, that enjoys the same level of irony as the Mitsubishi "Carisma"... ;D

For a USDM thread there sure are a lot of cars pictured that were never sold here When I think povo spec cars here in the states the one that immediatley comes to mind is the early 90's Tercel Sadly the modern equivalents like Kia Rio's and whatever dissapear as fast as they appear so I can't imagine them sticking around long enough to be appreciated.

I'm liking this thread a lot. Three particular cars have resulted in an very audible "want" from me: ^ WANT #1 ^ ^ WANT #2 ^ ^ WANT #3 ^ I like quite a lot of them, but those three in particular have got my want meter twitching quite a lot. Great thread Dude.

Is this an EK Civic? Just looked out of the window at mine and it's very similar. Looks good though.

For a USDM thread there sure are a lot of cars pictured that were never sold here Only a few of the older Isuzus to be fair - and you might find that you guys had some of those too but nobody bought any - with the exception of the Asuna Sunfire which was Canadian and, well it's an Isuzu too, only with an Asuna badge Basically I got a bit carried away when I was searching for Isuzus and just posted all the cool ones indiscriminately since we didn't get them in the UK When I think povo spec cars here in the states the one that immediatley comes to mind is the early 90's Tercel Ask and ye shall recieve ^ there's a whole thread on that Puerto Rican honey here - retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=121635 biggup to Mr Bizzle check that interior yo And a few of the older style Tercels to finish off and this last one looks to be British - you can tell by the rear light cluster and the dodgy 60s architecture and lockups - but it was more popular in the US so I'll allow it HANG ON THAT'S A BLOODY PHOTOSHOP cheeky feckers
