Great to see another update! Your thread is partly the reason I also bought a Series 1 4.2 the other day. So thanks for ruining my life Question though: how did you get the Pentas to fit you had on earlier? PCD adapters?

So thanks for ruining my life Question though: how did you get the Pentas to fit you had on earlier? PCD adapters? Sorry about that Mkickert.. I hope you will forgive me in a couple of years! Is your manual or auto? One of the best upgrades you can do on these old girls is getting rid of the autobox! Another great but cheep upgrade is changing the steering rack bushes to poly! Well worth it! My pentas fit without any problems. I just need new tyres and longer wheel studs. Right now I'm using s2 wheels with 225/60 Avons on the rear and 225/50 Toyo Tr1 on the front.

This is: One garden tractor, one Jaguar xk engine, one 4 speed gearbox with overdrive, one complete front cross member, one complete IRS, One heavy duty Jack, a pair of ramps, one bead roller, one sheet metal bender, one (I have no idea what you call it but its for rolling sheet metal) A lot of front and rear bumpers, the hide from a dead cow, one compressor and a lot of small but heavy stuff... Good thing its a 2 ton trailer... It took my friend Karsten and me a couple of hours getting it loaded. And then it was road trip time. 3 hours of driving and then 1 hour on the ferry to get to the island where my new garage is situated. The wan pulling the trailer was loaded up with boxes with tools and other parts. Getting the sheet metal bender of the trailer was a major concern, but after having borrowed a tractor from my neighbour it was no problem at all. It weighs in at around ½ a ton so it's not something you move about without the right tools. Now i just need to move the rest of my stuff. That's on the to do list for next week. I look so much forward to getting that done so that I can start getting my tools and spare parts in order. Hopefully before long I can start doing some proper sheet metal work with enough space around me. (I just need to do all the other stuff that's on the wife's THINGS THAT YOU HAVE TO DO BEFORE WORKING ON CARS list) First

You know how it is, leaving in the last minute.. The other day the wife and I was at our other home on the island.. We had to go to Copenhagen to work and do other boring stuff.. Since we don't like doing that we always end up leaving in the last minute. it takes around 15 minutes to drive to the ferry and you have to be there 15 minutes before it sails. Late as usual we jumped into the Jaguar and left the farm. At the village right by the church there is a 90 degrees blind bend in the road. The speed limit is 30 mph and not being a complete maniac i too the turn doing 25 mph (Having my wife beside me in the car tends to keep me on the right side of the speed limit) (I don't like getting THE look) Unknown to me, but at the same time the local builders firm was moving there store of white paint from one end of the island to the other. Apparently it is not a good idea to go through that bend in a flatbed truck with a lot of white paint on the bed. At least not doing it to fast without having secured the paint. So when I got out of the turn I ran right into a lake of white plastic paint. A huge lake! It had just happened so they had not posted a guard at the turn to stop oncoming traffic.. Being late for the ferry we just had to keep on going. No time to stop and find a hose to wash off the paint. So now I have eh white wall tires, and paint splatter on my wings and in the wheel wells. I'm looking forward to getting that cleaned off... I have had a chat with my insurance company so the car is going to a friend of mine who has a garage. It will be looked over by the insurance company. Hopefully they will pay out a bit of money for cleaning the car and a new set of tires.. In other news the output bearing on my gearbox is dead.. I shall have to get it fixed or find a new one. Does any of you know if you can swap the lt77 for the 380 Does it fit the XK bell housing and short shifter?

The house on Ærø is our summer hose to start with! The plan is to move there later on. I live in Emdrup! That's why the Jag is parked there. Nice collection of Triumph's you have there! Do you know Morten Henningsen? An old friend he has a GT6 and works in Copenhagen Christian :-)

Keep up the good work on the Jag :-) Yes it's a nice setup I had a chat with him about it the other day Emerald K3 on the modified Lucas throttle bodies! I'm offshore right now but let's find a day and kick some tires! Maybe we could go to the car meet on Amager strand (each Wednesday at 19.00) Next summer. Cheers Christian

Oh the joy of insurance companies. Or in the case the guy assessing the damage done to my paint and tires. Apparently patina and rat look was not words in his vocabulary. But after having a talk with my insurance company it turned out all right. around 800£ for new tires and cleaning of the paint! So a set of new Toyos are on there way! I haven't done much on the Jaguar lately. But I have changed the Generator on Bertha the Bay. A job that i have been pushing in front of me for a long time! Mainly because it's not fun at all to do! especially with the engine in place! I did get to turn the old kitchen table into a new peg board for my tools! Recycling at it's best! Hopefully I'll have more time for cars over the winter!

Having moved all my tools Ærø. I find my self with a little problem. It's kind of hard doing little stuff on my cars when all the car related tools are located a two hours drive and on hour ferry crossing away.. The plan is to move permanently. But not right now. I do however have a lot of friends that live near by who are into cars to. They have tools and they don't mind letting me borrow them once in a while. I'm struggling with a fuel starvation Issue on the Jaguar. I have tried changing the supply line. But that didn't help. Now I had a go at changing my fuel filter. That didn't do it either. I may have to try fitting a swivel pot to her. The filter is a Sytec fuel filter. It's an alloy housing where you can swap the inner paper filter. I found a new one at Deamon Tweeks. It was a 2 min job to change it. So no pictures. But I did take a couple of mobile shots of my friends Kenneth's cars. Or a couple of them. He has a huge collection of mostly fords. 7-8 different Capris some Escorts and Lot's of rare parts. I shall have take my Cannon along next time I go to his place. Customers Capri MkIII fitted up with a 24v Cossie And Kenneth's Anglia 190E Rally car known as the Taxi.. (Back in the day the 190E was the most common Taxi in Denmark) Waiting for Kenneth to finish the seam welding the chassis and it's 2.5 16v cossie engine. Underneath it is Kenneth's Escort Mk1 Station car. Not a car you see a lot of in Denmark. I would love to get my hand's on that one. Love the collar. Kenneth has a zetech and some ITB's for this one. Please feel free to Comment!

Good luck with the house move.
Just read this from start to finish and your skills are awesome I wish I could do half the stuff you do.
Awesome Jag and I hope you get your shoulder and the fueling issues sorted soon.

Thank you Bibbles :-) I really appreciate feed back and suggestions! The shoulder is better. Fuel starvation is on my to do list. And the house.. Well the house is a long term project! It's going to take a huge amount of time and money over the next 10-15 years. But me and my significant other love the place. Finally after Lot's of "help" from the Danish postal system. My new Toyos. To replace the whitewalls after the Paint incident. (white threads) On my Penta 5 stars. I had this mms from my mate Kenneth the other day. The plan was to go to his workshop today and fit them before i take the car to my new workshop on Ærø. I guess this will have to wait for a day or two... A blizzard hit Copenhagen this night 40 cm of snow where Kennth's workshop is.. I cant find my brave pills. So I'm not going out to try whether my Toyos and Avons are any good in the white stuff!

Not much of an update.. The old girl is doing her stuff! Here she is at the local supermarket the other night! On a milk run! I know! It's not really a car you should use when it's winter time. But.. I love using her and it's not like the paintwork is getting any worse this way! On the Christmas to do list is getting new bushes in the rear arms that locates the IRS to the body. They are gone. I may have more car related news later on. Subaru Martin: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/185035/1988-subaru-xt-4wd-turboHas his work cut out on this marvellous piece of 1980's wonder wedge. I'm helping him with welding up the surprising small amounts of holes in it. Cadillac Martin: retrorides.proboards.com/thread/163446/1950ish-caddillac-coupe-de-villeGave me a call yesterday. The body is back from the painter and now we can move on with getting the fuel lines done and the stainless exhaust. So it's time to resurrect the caddie thread! Have a nice Christmas all of you and may Santa bring you the parts you need!
