Read the thread from start to finish, I love it! I can imagine the sound it produces must be awesome! besides that i envy your workshop, those penta's.... in that colour on a burgundy/red car just ticks my boxes. Keep it up! what a ride! Thank you ET Feel free to swing by I'm at Ærø about 2 hours drive from Århus!(and then one hour with the ferry) May I suggest you go to Kalø Vig! Each tuseday they have a meet for vintage cars. I think they start at 19.00 It's about half an hour from Århus! Another nice place for a drive is Mols Bjerge! You are 3 hours from Copenhagen! That trip would take you over the Great Belt bridge! It's quite a drive!

I'm a big fan of slotmags, but personally, i prefer the Pentas, they just suit it better to my eye! I think the best thing you could do is to keep the Pentas, then take a deep breath, forget the set of broad speed arches saving yourself(400£) Just find a pair of XJC doors. Grind up the spot welds on the B - pillar. Move it back weld up the rear doors and do a sort of rat road race coupe! Love the Pentas Piston ;-) And you plan is indeed a good one! Maybe one day! (when I'm done with all the other things that i have to do)

I need a bit of advice! The engine needs to come out again due to the oil leak (and the oil rings) I have a spare that I want to fit while I give the other one some TLC. Right now I'm using the Original OD box! It's OK but it could be so much better. I have the LT77 Leland box that Jaguar used on the S3 It's quite rare or the box is not but the bell housing and the shifter is! It's not a strong box and mine needs new bearings and maybe a new main shaft + what ever else shows up when it's taken apart! I may have a supplier (Bristol Transmissions) And my local garage know about old cars and they are confident that they can handle the job I think there may be spare parts for 150-200£ and the work will come to 400-500£ That's quite a lot of money for an old box. (Labour is expensive in Denmark a shop hour here where it's cheap is 50£] Another option is to go for the Supra w58 non turbo box. There are companies that does all the things that you need to do the conversion. I found a secondhand box with new bearings for 280£ The conversion kit is around 450 with 120 for a modded shifter and then you need the prop shaft sorted they do that too! (185 for a new prop shaft) I may be able to do a deal on the kit lets say 650 for that! The Supra is a stronger box with a good reputation well able to handle the torque and HP that my car produces. So should i go for reconditioning the LT77 at 700 -800£ or go bamboo style and boil some rice with the W58 at 930£? None of it is cheap.. But I would be willing to pay a little more for a better solution! Does any of you have first hand experience with the Supra? I tried one 25 years ago and I must admit that I cant remember what I thought about the gearbox other then it could handle the abuse of a 18 old boy racer quite well...

I fitted a modern BorgWarner T5 to my TVR and would have gone with the Supra box.

Modern boxes always seem to have a better shift feel. if you're not worried about having it all period correct then go for the supra box!

Due to our puppy (Hjalmar the Broholmer) Actually he is not a puppy any more but a young dog at 16 months. Working on the car has been on hold. Hjalmar is a nice and friendly guy. He wants to say hello to everybody. He is eager and has yet to understand that being greeted by 65 kg of happy dog is not to every ones taste. This is a picture of Hjalmar and RIkke SWMBO. In Bertha the Bay Due to this I have spent a lot of time on this: My first fence! It's not done yet but I'm getting there. A rather steep learning curve I can see a million things that I would do differently next time. But it's there so that the cyclist and trekkers can pas our house UN greeted by happy slobbering dog. So now I found time do do some things on the Jaaaaaaaaaaaaag.. Oil leek is contained. Not solved but contained. I'm going to Copenhagen tomorrow so I wanted to solve a few issues before hitting the big roads back on the mainland. The front registration plate was hanging so I made some new brackets and put in some more grill. It's looking a bit better this way (in my own humble opinion. Then I started fixing the light for my rear plate. This is not just a simple job. The light that I want to fit has to sit where the old support bracket for the rear bumper sits. So this has to go. I'm stuck there right now because it's raining. But I shall have to figure something out in order to get it done before tomorrow! The last picture is of something that was missing. The fenders are glass fiber items. I fitted them ages ago but never did the pinstripe. I found time and some gold paint yesterday and did them. Not perfect! But nothing else is perfect so why ruin the whole picture by doing it too good! This way it look's like they have always been there. I hope to catch up with Rasmus during the weekend. I'm bringing my PC so we shall have a look at mapping a bit!

This is thing continues to look great.
I'm not sure that fence is tall enpugh to make passersby feel safe, though. Even if the dog won't jump it. :-P
